Lotto results: Mega roll-over jackpot up for grabs on Wednesday

More loot has been added to the jackpot this week, after last week's numbers managed to evade capture. In fact, there's yet to be a winner in the new year of 2019, meaning that its only a matter of time before luck comes calling.

Only one lotto hopeful came close to clinching the ultimate prize during the last draw. Unfortunately, one ball proved to be the only thing standing between R100,000 and R16 million a mighty big difference. Still, R100 000 isn't something to smirk at.

Last year's biggest lotto winners The last lotto win occurred on 29 December 2018 making someone's dreams come true and undoubtedly altering their New Year's resolutions. Entering 2019 with a hefty sum of R 3,247,902.50 would put a serious spring in anybody's step a true happy New Year's greeting.

December, in general, proved to be an incredibly profitable Festive Season for five lucky lotto players all of whom managed to clinch the elusive jackpot. The biggest win occurred on 8 December when the balls aligned and someone walked away with a massive R 46,397,148.90.

The December winner was only eclipsed by on other in 2018 a 63-year-old grandmother of five. This modest pensioner managed to bag a staggering R57 million in the national lottery back in October. What makes this particular victory all the more heartfelt is the fact that, up until that point, the most she'd ever won on a ticket at been R50.

The 63 year old, who had been playing the lotto for almost six years, was so disillusioned with the game, that she didn't even check her ticket following the fateful draw. It was her eldest daughter who eventually checked the grannies ticket - exclaiming that she'd hit the big jackpot!
