Ikegami Electronics (Europe) will demonstrate recent additions to its range of broadcast cameras and picture monitors on Stand AR-G10 at the May 13th-15th 2025 CABSAT exhibition in the Dubai World Trade Centre. Making its first MEA market show appearance will be the UHL-X40 3-CMOS ultra-compact 4K-UHD HDR camera which is designed for applications where size and weight are a major concern.
Our new UHL-X40 elevates image capture to an enhanced level of versatility and efficiency while still maintaining the robustness and high signal quality which our customers naturally expect, comments Abdul Ghani, General Manager, Ikegami Middle East. Measuring only 89 mm front-to-back by 128 mm high and operating on just 23 watts at 12 volts DC, the UHL-X40 can be located up to 10 km from its CCU-X40 control unit via duplex single-mode fibre carrying uncompressed RGB raw pixel data. A 1G Ethernet trunk accommodates external data such as pan/tilt/zoom control. The UHL-X40 shares the same core technology and features as our latest-generation UHK-X700 series, including 3-CMOS UHD global-shutter sensors and advanced digital processing, so allows easy intercuts between the two models. Additional UHL-X40 capabilities are image inversion, allowing upside-down mounting from a ceiling, plus CCU-selectable HD image cutout selection from a UHD source. The UHL-X40 achieves F11 sensitivity at 2160p50 and has a signal-to-noise ratio of 62 dB. HDR and BT.2020 colour reproduction are available as standard.
Ikegami will also highlight the UHD-native UHK-X700 and HD-native HDK-X500 studio/portable cameras. Both models are designed for pedestal, tripod or jib-mounted studio or outside-broadcast production as well as allowing over-the-shoulder location operation. The UHK-X700 and HDK-X500 both incorporate three inch CMOS sensors with global shutter architecture. 1920 x 1080 native HD resolution sensors are featured in the HDK-X500. The UHK-X700 and its UHK-X600 variant are equipped with 3840 x 2160 native UHD resolution sensors. The global shutter pixel architecture captures natural images even when shooting LED screens, clear of geometric distortion during still frame replay. It also minimises artifacts when televising flash/strobe-illuminated stage environments. As an option, the UHK-X700 allows HFR shooting at up to 2x speed in UHD or up to 8x in HD via the base station. When combined with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station or CCU-X100 camera control unit, the UHK-X700 can output UHD/HD video formats simultaneously.
Performance parameters of the Ikegami HDK-X500 include a horizontal resolution of 1,000 TVL, 62 dB typical signal to noise ratio and F12 sensitivity (1080/50p). The HDK-X500 is also capable of high frame-rate capture at 2x speed (1080i at 100 Hz) or low-frame-rate capture (1080p/23.98, 25, 29.97), both as software license options. The UHK-X700 and HDK-X500 incorporate Ikegami's AXII digital processor which includes features such as automatic optical vignetting correction throughout the range of OVC-compatible B4 bayonet mount zoom lenses, and remote back focus adjustment.
Latest-generation picture monitors on show at CABSAT will include the 24 inch Ikegami HLM-2460WA which builds on the capabilities and performance of its HLM-2460W predecessor. The HLM-2460WA is designed for use in broadcast environments such as edit suites where a computer-friendly WUXGA display resolution is preferred, and for integration into monitor walls. The HLM-2460WA reproduces more accurate dynamics of the source images thanks to a 1920 x 1200 native pixel IPS LCD panel with 1,800:1 contrast ratio and 400 nits peak brightness.
Also on display will be the HLM-1860WR and HLM-960WR monitors. The HLM-1860WR is an AC or DC powered 1920 x 1080 pixel native HD multiformat monitor with a larger 18.5 inch IPS LCD panel than its HLM-1760WR predecessor, within the same 19 inch rack-width 7 U high housing. The display has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 500 nits peak brightness, allowing it to reproduce clear images even in outdoor environments. The HLM-960WR is a highly compact multiformat LCD monitor with a 9-inch Full HD 1920 1080 pixel 400 candela per square metre 8-bit resolution LCD panel. This model offers very narrow front-to-back dimensions, light weight and low power consumption.
