Spotify renforce la protection des artistes et des producteurs face l'IA

La musique a toujours volu avec la technologie. De la bande multipiste et des synth tiseurs aux stations audionum riques et l'Auto-Tune, chaque g n ration d'artistes et de producteurs s'est empar e de nouveaux outils pour repousser les limites du son et de la cr ation.

Ces derni res ann es, le d veloppement de l'IA g n rative s'est acc l r un rythme parfois d routant, notamment pour les cr ateurs. Bien utilis e, elle ouvre des perspectives fascinantes pour les artistes comme pour les auditeurs. Mal utilis e, elle peut servir d'arme des acteurs malveillants ou des fermes de contenus qui inondent l' cosyst me de contenus m diocres, trompent les auditeurs et nuisent aux artistes authentiques. Ce type de d rives d grade l'exp rience d' coute et d tourne injustement les redevances.

L'avenir de la musique est en train de s' crire. Pour qu'il profite pleinement aux artistes et aux producteurs, il est essentiel de se prot ger activement contre les d rives de l'IA g n rative.

Nous imaginons un futur o les artistes et les producteurs gardent le contr le sur la mani re d'int grer l'IA leur processus cr atif. eux les choix artistiques et nous d'assurer leur protection contre le spam, l'usurpation d'identit ou les manipulations, et d'apporter aux auditeurs une transparence accrue sur ce qu'ils coutent.

Ce combat n'est pas nouveau. Depuis plus de dix ans, nous investissons massivement dans la lutte contre le spam. Rien que l'an dernier, marqu par l'essor fulgurant des outils d'IA g n rative, nous avons retir plus de 75 millions de morceaux ind sirables de Spotify. La technologie volue vite, et nous continuerons d'adapter nos r gles. Voici les trois axes sur lesquels nous concentrons nos efforts :

Application renforc e contre les usurpations d'identit ;

Nouveau syst me de filtrage du spam ;

Transparence sur l'usage de l'IA gr ce des cr dits musicaux normalis s.

Des r gles plus strictes contre l'usurpation d'identit Le probl me : nous avons toujours eu une politique contre les contenus trompeurs. Mais, les outils d'IA ont rendu la cr ation de deepfakes vocaux d'artistes c l bres plus facile que jamais.

Ce que nous annon ons : une nouvelle politique (lien) clarifie la mani re dont nous traitons les signalements de clones vocaux IA et autres imitations non autoris es. Seule l'utilisation approuv e par l'artiste sera tol r e. Nous travaillons galement avec les distributeurs pour bloquer, en amont, les tentatives de mise en ligne frauduleuse sur les profils d'artistes. Enfin, nous investissons dans des outils de d tection pour acc l rer les v rifications et permettre aux artistes de signaler une inad quation d s la phase de pr -sortie.

Pourquoi c'est important : cloner la voix d'un artiste sans son accord revient exploiter son identit et fragiliser son art. Certains artistes peuvent choisir de pr ter leur voix des projets IA et c'est leur choix. Notre r le est de faire en sorte que ce choix leur appartienne toujours.

Un filtre anti-spam musical Le probl me : les paiements totaux de redevances sur Spotify sont pass s de 1 milliard de dollars en 2014 10 milliards en 2024. Mais, ces montants attirent des acteurs malveillants. Les tactiques de spam (t l chargements massifs, doublons, manipulations SEO, morceaux artificiellement raccourcis et autres contenus m diocres) sont devenues plus faciles exploiter mesure que les outils IA facilitent la production de grandes quantit s de musique.

Ce que nous annon ons : cet automne, nous d ploierons un nouveau filtre anti-spam musical. Un syst me capable d'identifier les uploaders et morceaux utilisant ces tactiques, de les marquer et d'arr ter de les recommander. Pour viter les faux positifs, il sera d ploy progressivement et enrichi de nouveaux signaux au fil du temps.

Pourquoi c'est important : si elles ne sont pas contr l es, ces pratiques peuvent diluer le pool de redevances et r duire la visibilit des artistes respectant les r gles. Notre nouveau filtre prot gera contre ces comportements et emp chera les spammeurs de g n rer des redevances qui devraient revenir aux artistes et auteurs professionnels.

Transparence sur l'IA dans les cr dits musicaux Le probl me : beaucoup d'auditeurs veulent savoir ce qu'ils coutent et comprendre le r le de l'IA dans la musique qu'ils t l chargent. Pour les artistes qui utilisent de mani re responsable l'IA dans leur processus cr atif, il n'existe aucun moyen sur les plateformes de l'indiquer. Nous savons que l'utilisation de l'IA ne suit pas un sch ma binaire. Les artistes peuvent recourir l'IA pour certaines tapes de leur production et pas pour d'autres. L'industrie musicale a besoin d'une approche nuanc e de la transparence, plut t que d' tre contrainte classifier chaque morceau comme IA ou non IA .

Ce que nous annon ons : nous contribuons au d veloppement et soutiendrons le nouveau standard pour la transparence de l'IA dans les cr dits musicaux, d velopp par DDEX. mesure que ces informations seront transmises via les labels, distributeurs et partenaires musicaux, nous commencerons les afficher dans l'application. Ce standard permet aux artistes et ayants droit d'indiquer clairement o et comment l'IA a t utilis e dans la cr ation d'un morceau. Il s'agit ici de renforcer la confiance, et non de sanctionner les artistes qui utilisent l'IA de mani re responsable. Cela n'aura pas d'impact sur la mise en avant ou la promotion des contenus sur Spotify.
