TMD to demonstrate simple, agile, software-defined workflows at NAB2018

The Mediaflex-UMS Orchestrator workflow engine controls a wide range of third-party devices and integrates to numerous business systems. It supports simple or complex software-defined workflows that will automatically adapt, based on metadata values.

The scalable, agile Mediaflex-UMS platform makes it ideal for implementation on premises, in the cloud, or as a hybrid solution. Media applications are available for every element of the media supply chain, from ingest, and production to archiving and distribution.

New at NAB2018 is Fidelity, an encoder for creating content and watching it on the web. Also new, is an updated integration between Mediaflex-UMS and Avid's Interplay production systems. Avid users can now select content, master clips, or sequences and trigger Mediaflex workflows to archive or distribute the media. Journalists and editors can search for content within Mediaflex using the original Avid locators and metadata, and restore the media or sub clips to their Avid environments. Production Planners can allocate jobs to editors, select content, create cut sheets and automatically push the content into Avid.

TMD will also be emphasising its support for IMF (Interoperable Master Format). Interest is rapidly growing in this international standardisation effort to create a framework for the simple exchange of rich media files. Mediaflex-UMS recognises IMF content and automatically updates its metadata to reflect new material.
