The multi-award-winning journalist and broadcaster Asanda Magaqa also makes it to the list of SABC's new 24-hours news channel host.

According to a media statement released by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) the former Umhlobo Wenene FM's current affairs host will anchor the Week-in review' and The Week Ahead' on Saturdays and Sundays between 13:00-14:00.

Magaqa has had her misfortunes in the industry Magaqa made the headlines in 2014 when she got escorted' off the premises of her then-workplace ANN7. In 2020, she made trends when Masechaba Ndlovu got appointed as the new spokesperson for the department of arts and culture by Minister Nathi Mthethwa, which would mean Magaqa was fired but what caused people to mock her were her tweets which could suggest she didn't even know.

SABC also announced that Lumko Jimlongo who has served the industry for 18 years will be the channel's news editor.
The SABC 24-hour news channel will air on DStv channel 404 with effect from 01 April 2023.
