Bulb Technologies partners with Huawei for IPTV and OTT

Bulb Technologies, a provider of service management and customer experience solutions, has successfully passed Huawei's application certification process to supply applications over the Huawei Envision video platform. Huawei Envision assists communication service providers (CSPs) in delivering high quality and content-rich video services, and Bulb is one of only a few vendors certified for the platform at this level.

Bulb provides slick, fast and lightweight client applications supporting multiple screens and devices. The flexible and clean user interface framework can make any set-top-box and OTT offering stand out, while allowing for a consistent look and feel throughout. The certification is proof of Bulb's capability, giving CSPs using Huawei Envision the peace of mind to negate performance issues.

Huawei Envision provides a platform for carriers to take advantage of technologies such as 4K, UHD, VR, AR and IP-based technologies which are maturing to improve the customer experience. It is based on standards, alliances and open labs which creates an ecosystem that assists carriers in constructing the platform, content, and device partnerships for video service development.

Third party partner offerings able to pass Huawei's test criteria are awarded the certificate, a seal that means customers can trust the compatibility of the products and solutions jointly offered by Huawei and partner vendors. It is a positive reflection of the wealth of experience Bulb has in solving complex customer experience projects in multivendor network infrastructure environments that guarantee operators to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

This certification will provide a great sense of peace of mind for CSPs using Huawei Envision to provide video services. It signifies Huawei's endorsement for Bulb's products and solutions, said Marijo Mihelcic, head of IPTV and OTT development at Bulb Technologies. It is key for OTT services to offer applications that run smoothly in order for customers to keep using them. Huawei has decades of experience in the IP network domain and the Envision platform provides some strong competitiveness for carriers. This partnership eliminates much of the risk that could be caused by technical issues and problems that can affect and degrade IPTV service quality.
