NOA's N7000c Makes Major Headway

The past 12 months have proved to be a whirlwind for AV digitizing and archiving specialist NOA GmbH and its dynamic archiving solutions. One example is that of its N7000c AD/DA hardware audio interface. In just one year, the number of broadcasters and media houses worldwide implementing this innovative compact and full-featured hardware to streamline their audio ingest has augmented substantially. And there is no sign of slowed momentum.

Among facilities joining the N7000c trend are Austria's ORF, the National Archives of Finland, RVT Slovenia, Mediathek (national archives of Austria), Swedish Radio, the National Archive of Mexico and Hungary's public broadcaster MTVA.

So, what makes the N7000c so special? For one thing, the N7000c is the first interface of its kind to offer the security of BitProof control. This groundbreaking feature secures any audio data transferred to the NOARecord software against silent corruption allowing the elimination of interstitial errors by constantly creating checksums for every bit of data created in the DSP of the N7000c and comparing them against the written sound file.

But that's not all.The N7000c, which serves as a versatile and cost-effective solution for first-rate audio transfers, also provides a single high-quality interface that accepts up to four replay devices of different types, such as record decks, reel-to-reel tape decks, Arch ophone and any other analog players. It delivers outstanding dynamic range, phono preamplification including various historical deemphasis curves, as well as many other advanced features for audio archiving professionals.

Connections to player devices can be made via RS232 and 9pin for remote control, while a CAT5 cable delivers audio through the integrated Dante interface. This allows users to connect a simple laptop to the network and get eight uncompressed 192 kHz linear streams without needing specific PCI cards.

Before, it was necessary for users to assemble several devices in order to achieve the same operating capabilities - and this complexity increased the cost, says Christophe Kummer, Managing Partner of NOA.
