Half a century of Spanish Television in the Canary Islands TVE comenz sus emisiones en Canarias a las 19 horas del 12 de febrero de 1964, desde la Casa del Marino, en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A partir de 1971 se estableci en la plazoleta Milton, donde se vivi toda una revoluci n tecnol gica, al disponer de conexi n sat lite con la Pen nsula.
Televisi n Espa ola en Canarias, cumple este mi rcoles, 12 de febrero, cincuenta a os de emisiones ininterrumpidas. Para conmemorar su medio siglo de vida, la cadena ha preparado una programaci n especial, tanto a nivel nacional como en el circuito canario, bajo el lema TVE en Canarias, 50 a os de tu vida.
La Primera Edici n y la Segunda Edici n del Telediario del mi rcoles se har n en directo desde Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, con Pilar Garc a Mu iz y Ana Blanco. Tambi n el espacio de debate y actualidad La Noche en 24 Horas, presentado por Sergio Mart n, se emitir ese d a desde el centro de producci n de Las Palmas y tendr como invitados a contertulios canarios.
The morning de La 1, presentado por Maril Montero, ofrecer ese d a piezas sobre los 50 a os de TVE en Canarias, los acontecimientos de los que ha sido testigo estos a os y su labor en la promoci n del turismo. Adem s, ofrecer testimonios de conocidos presentadores canarios de TVE a lo largo de estos a os, como Cristina Garc a Ramos o Paco Montesdeoca.
Por la tarde, a la hora exacta en la que se iniciaron hace 50 a os las emisiones, las 7 de la tarde (8 en la Pen nsula), Direct Spain conectar en directo con Canarias y recuperar las im genes de aquella primera emisi n. El espacio conectar en directo con el Teide. Adem s, el magac n que presenta Marta Solano llevar a lo largo de toda esta semana la secci n de cocina a las islas.
TVE ha preparado asimismo una programaci n especial para el mi rcoles en el circuito canario. Stall, el cl sico programa de m sica tradicional canaria y cultura popular y el espacio m s antiguo de la televisi n en Espa a, ofrecer el mi rcoles 12 una edici n especial. El Debate de La 1, presentado por Cristina Almand s, tambi n girar ese d a en torno al 50 aniversario y tendr como invitados a profesionales de TVE que vivieron aquellos d as.
RNE, que celebra el pr ximo 14 de septiembre el cincuenta aniversario de su Centro Emisor del Atl ntico en Tenerife, emite desde all este mi rcoles su espacio matinal Las ma anas de RNE.
Adem s, con motivo del 50 aniversario, RTVE.es recupera del Archivo de RTVE una aut ntica joya producida en 1995 por el centro de TVE en el Archipi lago: la serie documental de ocho cap tulos Atlantes, dirigida y narrada por Carlos Pablo Melero y con guiones de autores canarios. La serie podr verse en la nueva plataforma Somos Documentales' de RTVE.es.

Televisi n Espa ola fue el primer puente de comunicaci n que uni las islas con la Pen nsula hace 50 a os. Hoy informa y proyecta la imagen de Canarias al resto de Espa a y al mundo como destino tur stico.
TVE comenz sus emisiones en Canarias a las 19 horas del 12 de febrero de 1964, desde la Casa del Marino, en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A partir de 1971 se estableci en la plazoleta Milton, donde se vivi toda una revoluci n tecnol gica, al disponer de conexi n sat lite con la Pen nsula.
Durante cinco d cadas, TVE en Canarias ha sido testigo de todos los acontecimientos de trascendencia nacional e internacional ocurridos en el Archipi lago o su rea de influencia, como la erupci n del volc n Tenegu a (La Palma, 1971), cuyas im genes fueron emitidas por cadenas de todo el mundo, o el accidente del aeropuerto de Los Rodeos (Tenerife, 1977) en el que murieron 583 personas. Tambi n ha facilitado el conocimiento de frica, al encargarse de la corresponsal a del norte del continente africano.
Hoy TVE se constituye en el Grupo RTVE con sedes principales en las dos capitales, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y Santa Cruz de Tenerife, y unidades informativas en las cinco islas restantes. Carlos Taboada ocupa la direcci n de RTVE en Canarias en la actualidad.
En 2010, RTVE inici una nueva etapa con la inauguraci n de su nuevo centro de producci n en Canarias, que acoge a TVE y RNE en Las Palmas. Dotado de la ltima tecnolog a digital, dispone de dos plat s de 450 y 250 m2, y fue uno de los primeros en digitalizarse. Durante 2013 se duplic la producci n respecto al a o anterior y est previsto mantenerla a lo largo de este ejercicio.
