New IsiNdebele show titled Komkhulu had to suspend production on Thursday, 6 April, after five of the drama series' members were involved in an accident.

According to City Press, the team members were on their way to shoot the final scenes of the much-anticipated Mzansi Magic series in KwaMhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) when the collision took place.

KOMKHULU' PRODUCTION TEAM INVOLVED IN CAR ACCIDENT Speaking to the publication, a member of the Komkhulu cast said that the accident left everyone traumatised. As a result, shooting had to be suspended.

When the news broke, the mood on set became sombre and some people had to leave and go to the scene to help our colleagues, said the source.

Another Komkhulu cast member alleged that the other car was in the wrong lane when the accident happened.

Our team members were driving in a white van, which is a production car. One guy sustained injuries to the shoulders. Another had a broken arm and others sustained minor to moderate injuries on their upper bodies. They are fine now, the cast member explained.

ABOUT THE ISINDEBELE SHOW Komkhulu is Mzansi Magic's first isiNdebele drama and will premiere on Sunday, 9 April, at 20:00.

Produced by Rhythm World Productions, which is owned by Duma Ka Ndlovu who created Muvhango, Komkhulu will take viewers to Mpumalanga's countryside, home of the Komkhulu chiefdom, ruled by Chief Masoso Mbonani, a young Ndebele king.
