Get ready for some Music at Rocky Mount Mills!

UPDATE: This Saturday's Mill Music Session featuring @sarahshooksdisarmers is postponed due to the forecasted weather. Randy McQuaid will go on as scheduled on Friday.

Sarah Shook & the Disarmers will open the 2023 Music Mill Sessions line up this Saturday, April 22, at 7pm. The free music series features live music, food trucks, craft beer and more.

North Carolina's Sarah Shook sings with a conviction and hard honesty sorely lacking in much of today's Americana landscape. Always passionate, at times profane, Sarah stalks/walks the line between vulnerable and menacing, their voice strong and uneasy, country classic but with contemporary, earthy tension.

The Disarmers hit all the sweet spots from Nashville's Lower Broad to Bakersfield and take Sarah's unflinching tales out for some late-nightkicks. At times, it's as simple and muscular as Luther Perkins' boom-chicka-boom, or as downtown as Johnny Thunders. The Disarmers keep in the pocket, tight and tough.

Patterson's Food Truck will begin serving at 5pm. Or stop by one of the restaurants on campus. Bring your chair or a blanket and grab a seat on the lawn for this free, family-friendly event.

Want a double shot of music? Randy McQuay has been rescheduled for Friday, April 21. He will play in the Beer Garden at Rocky Mount Mills as part of the Music at the Mills series sponsored by Davenport Auto Park.
