Former Miss SA contestant Lehlogonolo Machaba revealed she had successfully undergone a gender reassignment surgery.

Despite Miss SA contestant Lehlogonolo Machaba missing out on the opportunity of taking the crown for the second year in a row, she's still winning at life.

That's because the model who is the first transgendered woman to ever compete in the pageant has successfully completed her gender reassignment or affirmation surgery.
LEHLOGONOLO MACHABA MISSES OUT ON MISS SA TOP 10 AGAIN For the second consecutive year, Lehlogonolo Machaba felt short of being voted into the Miss SA Top 10. The North-West model and fashion graduate entered the pageant again in 2022 after her stint last year.
But the proudly trans woman sadly did not make the Top 10 something she holds no ill will toward.

Lehlogonolo Machaba, a transwoman who entered the Miss South Africa pageant in 2021, returned for second shot at the crown this year.

She revealed in an Instagram post following the Miss SA finalist announcement: Rejection is indeed redirection. I am so pleased with what has been unfolding in my eyes and knowing he has greater plans than my eyesight and what I can fathom .
She added: I'm grateful to Miss SA and congratulations to all the ladies who proceeded into Top 10. LEHLOGONOLO MACHABA's journey is one for the books, trust me and God's plan that will see his goodness in the land of the living .

GENDER AFFIRMATION SURGERY IS A SUCCESS This week, Lehlogonolo revealed that she had successfully completed her affirmation surgery.

Explaining what this means, she told Daily Sun: In my case, I was born male and I am transitioning into a female. Now I've had surgery where they construct a vagina for me
It's the construction of designed genitalia for a trans person to match with the gender which they identify .

For the transgender activist, the surgery is significant. She continued: This for me is a matter of affirmation. Knowing fully that I'm becoming the woman I've always wanted to be. From now on, I won't have to explain who I am. I'll just be myself .
She added: I'm really excited about the future. Everything is done now .
For fellow South Africans hoping to transition, she advised them to see a psychologist first .
