Giving it Welly: Stars Set for Tullamore

RT at the National Ploughing Championships 2016 is in association with Aldi.

What do Nicky Byrne, Rob and Dave Kearney, Nuala Carey, Ryan Tubridy, Marty Morrissey, Joe Duffy and ine Lawlor all have in common? They're all part of RT 's action-packed line up at the 85th National Ploughing Championships, which takes place in Screggan, Tullamore from 20th 22nd September. With live radio and television broadcasts, a host of musical performances, live weather bulletins and exclusive events with well-known presenters, visitors to the RT set will have much to explore at the Ploughing 2016.

RT has announced a range of new additions to its presence at this year's National Ploughing Championships, including The Ryan Tubridy Show and the News at One on RT Radio 1, both of which will broadcast live from the RT set on Wednesday 21st September. Once again, Aine Lawlor and Marty Morrissey will present The Ploughing Live every evening on RT One from 7.00-7.30pm.

According to RT Director-General, Dee Forbes, The National Ploughing Championships offer RT a wonderful opportunity to meet with our audiences and get their feedback, while also giving them an enjoyable and memorable experience. We have put an exciting programme in place for this year s Ploughing and I hope that the thousands of people who visit our set enjoy another great RT experience.

In addition to the Six-One news, Nuacht RT and RT Weather with live daily weather bulletins the RT set will also feature an RT jr Zone, Swipe TV, the RT Guide, RT Player and the RT Shop. And all those Weather Wannabees will get another chance to put their weather forecasting skills to the test in RT 's custom-built weather studio from 9am 12pm daily.

RT radio will also be out in force at the Ploughing 2016:

RT Radio 1's Morning Ireland and Today with Sean O'Rourke and RT Raid o na Gaeltachta's R n n agus Bl thnaid Beo will broadcast live from the RT set on Tuesday 20th September;

The Ryan Tubridy Show on RT Radio 1, RT lyric fm's Marty in The Morning with Marty Whelan and RT Gold with Michael Cahill and Aidan Leonard will be live on Wednesday 21st September;

RT Radio 1's Liveline (including Funny Thursday'), RT 2FM's, The Nicky Byrne Show with Jenny Greene and RT Gold will all be broadcasting live from the RT set on the final day of the National Ploughing Championships on Thursday 22nd September.

And there's more. The Sunday Game's live interactive panel event is back by popular demand, hosted by Michael Lyster, while Damien O'Reilly will be joined by special guest,Marti the pig as he presents RT Radio 1's, Countrywide live on Tuesday and Wednesday with rugby stars and brothers, Rob and Dave Kearney among the special guests.
