Free-to-air channel Dave and UKTV Play to be renamed U&Dave and U, following launch of masterbrand, U, this summer.
Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza returns for a third series on free streaming service U and free to air channel U&Dave this summer. The hilarious UKTV Original series is produced by Phil McIntyre Television and hosted by Rosie Jones. The riotous show will once again welcome a host of up-and-coming comedic talent, intertwined with some returning comedians.
Bring it on, Baby!
Rosie Jones said: "Has it been a year already? I cant wait to be back hosting the funniest show on television this summer. As you know by now, although the series is named after me, it isnt all about me. I am looking forward to introducing everyone to some of the most exciting comedians on to the circuit. Bring it on, Baby!"
Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza followed the incredibly successful, UKTV Disabled Comedians Showcase which took place in October 2021 in front of an industry audience. Inspired by the success of the showcase, Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza was born as part of UKTVs continuing commitment to provide a platform for diverse and underrepresented talent. The previous series starred Cerys Bradley, Eshaan Akbar, Harriet Dyer, Jamie MacDonald, Jo Coffey, Joe Wells, Joshua Robertson, Marjolein Robertson, Markus Birdman, Matty Oxley, McClaine Beirne and Spring Day.
Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza is commissioned by Jason Dawson, UKTV Commissioning Executive and ordered for Dave by Cherie Hall, channel director, and UKTV Play by Andrea Amey, chief digital officer and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning. The series is being produced for UKTV and Phil McIntyre Television with Adele Fowler as producer, and Lucy Ansbro and Lindsay Jex as executive producers.
Jason Dawson, commissioning executive, UKTV said: "We are elated to be working with Rosie and Phil McIntyre again on the return of Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza. In the space of a few short years this showcase has become an integral date in the comedy calendar, and as Rosies career continues to scale new heights, were committed to ensuring this series does too. We look forward to showcasing some of the countrys finest comedy talent on both U and U&Dave for what will be the biggest extravaganza yet!"
Paula Fitzgerald, head of digital content, UKTV added: "Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza is an incredible addition to our growing slate of content, as we prepare for the launch of U this summer. We are thrilled to have the show back for a third series."
Cherie Hall, channel director, Dave said: "We are so excited to bring Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza to U&Dave. We are looking forward to introducing upcoming comedic talent, whilst raising important awareness to disability on screen to our viewers this summer."
Adele Fowler, producer at Phil McIntyre Television said: "Its always a joy working with Rosie and the team at UKTV on this celebration of disability and comedy. This is such an important platform for up-and-coming disabled comedians who are not only breaking boundaries with their comedy but are taking the circuit by storm."
Rosie Joness Disability Comedy Extravaganza is a UKTV Original commission and will stream for free on U and air on U&DAVE this summer. UKTV recently announced the introduction of new masterbrand, U, which will see its free streaming service UKTV Play transition to U and its family of free-to-air channels become U&Dave, U&DRAMA, U&YESTERDAY, and U&W.
