It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. What a profound truth! A realization that eases the grip of life on man surrendering to God in all things. Partake in this feast as we consume food for the soul, nourishing the spirit in Breaking Bread. It is Monday, 11th July 2022.

BIBLE VERSE: LUKE 3:8-14 What does it mean to show remorse or repentance or regrets and turn back to God? According to the Bible it means a change in heart, thoughts and deeds. It is this change that will ultimately lead to a change in deeds and actions (Acts 26 : 20).

It is important that if we had rejected Jesus, to change our thoughts about him and to acknowledge Him as the Son of God and the true Lord our Christ. For the unbeliever this will lead to the salvation in Christ and for the believer to the repair of broken relationships with God and his fellow believers. We must however remember that to repent does not mean that it is some deed to receive salvation. No, true repentance is the change in our heart and thoughts from the rejection of Christ to true faith in Him.

It is important for us to focus on the following components of repentance:

We need to first see our sins

We need to feel sorry for sins committed

We need to confess our sins before God

We must be ashamed of our sins

We must hate our sins

We must turn our backs on these sins

PRAYER Lord, we pray for Your guidance in our healing process. We ask You to give us the necessary strength to walk this difficult road in order to receive total salvation through repentance and to turn our face back to Your throne of grace.

Lord please show us the emptiness of our hearts so that we can fill it with Your love and forgiveness. We pray all this in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.

Dit is belangrik dat as ons Jesus verwerp het, ons ons gedagtes oor Hom verander en Hom as die Seun van God en die ware Here ons Christus erken. Vir die ongelowige sal dit lei tot die verlossing deur Christus en vir die gelowige tot die herstel van gebroke verhoudings met God en sy medegelowiges. Ons moet egter onthou dat om te bekeer nie beteken dat dit een of ander daad is om verlossing te ontvang nie. Nee, ware bekering is die verandering in ons hart en gedagtes van die verwerping van Christus na ware geloof in Hom.

Dit is vir ons belangrik om op die volgende komponente van bekering te fokus:

Ons moet eers ons sondes sien

Ons moet jammer voel vir sondes wat gepleeg is

Ons moet ons sondes voor God bely

Ons moet skaam wees vir ons sondes

Ons moet ons sondes haat

Ons moet ons rug op hierdie sondes draai

GEBED Here, ons bid vir U leiding in ons genesingsproses. Ons vra U om ons die nodige krag te gee om hierdie moeilike pad te stap om deur bekering totale verlossing te ontvang en ons aangesig terug te draai na U troon van genade. Here wys ons asseblief die leegheid van ons harte sodat ons dit kan vul met U liefde en vergifnis. Ons bid dit alles in die wonderlike Naam van Jesus. Amen.
