M s de 5.500 espectadores pudieron volver a ver Matrix, en esta ocasi n con su banda sonora en directo interpretada por la Filarm nica de la NRD en el O2 World de Hamburgo. Bajo la direcci n de Frank Strobel, la Filarm nica interpret la banda sonora del film de manera sincronizada con la proyecci n con dos proyectores 4K DLP Cinema de alto brillo de la serie Solaria de Christie.
El concepto film con orquesta es, precisamente, la gran especialidad de Frank Strobel, quien hace ya trece a os fund en Berl n, junto a Beate Warkentien, el European Film Philharmonic Institute. Desde entonces, y bajo la direcci n art stica de Strobel, la instituci n se dedica a una tarea ininterrumpida de investigaci n de composiciones originales y nuevas grabaciones as como de restauraci n de copias de pel culas.
To assist in the preparation and execution of the projection of Matrix, el European Film Philharmonic Institute recurri al equipo de BIG cinema, que tuvo a su cargo la instalaci n de la tecnolog a cinematogr fica al completo, desde los dispositivos de reproducci n a los proyectores.
El equipo de Johannes Bernstein se puso a trabajar en los detalles del evento un a o antes de su estreno. Bernstein, director ejecutivo de BIG cinema, admite que aunque tenemos experiencia en eventos de este tipo, nunca hab amos llevado a cabo uno de tal magnitud. Remodelar el O2 World para poderlo presentar supon a un desaf o en toda regla, no pod amos equivocarnos y por eso lo fiamos todo, una vez m s, al rendimiento y a la calidad de los proyectores de Christie .
Dos Solaria con 32.000 l menes cada uno
Bernstein opt por dos Christie CP4230s, cuya poderos sima iluminaci n resultaba ideal para enviar a la pantalla (de 23 metros de ancho por 10 de alto) unas im genes tan potentes y de tanto brillo. Las dimensiones de la pantalla se adaptaban al escenario donde se situaba la orquesta. Bernstein nos aclara el porqu de los dos proyectores: el segundo proyector ten a la funci n de ampliar la potencia de luz del ya existente y de servir de back-up; es decir, en caso de aver a la presencia del segundo proyector permitir a continuar el espect culo sin mayores problemas .
La combinaci n de los proyectores de la Serie Solaria Christie CP4230 4K DLP Cinema, con una potencia lum nica de hasta 32.000 l menes cada uno, y la orquesta de ochenta y cinco profesores que ejecut a la perfecci n el trabajo realizado por el compositor Don Davis y Frank Strobel con la banda sonora de Matrix, desemboc en una experiencia cinematogr fica y sonora imborrable.
Los proyectores se colocaron a unos 80 metros de la pantalla sobre un pedestal B tec equipado ex profeso con una cabina insonorizada de Audipack, una medida que garantiza que el sonido de la orquesta no se vea afectado por el ruido del ventilador, por d bil que sea.
Dado que sonido y v deo se gestionaban con sistemas diferentes, el equipo de tres profesionales de BIG cinema trabaj sobre el terreno y en total sincron a con el equipo de sonido de Neumann & M ller, un aspecto que planteaba el mayor reto para Bernstein: Se precisaba una interacci n impecable entre los t cnicos. Pues bien: todo funcion a la perfecci n .
En palabras de Bernstein, el equipo de v deo se lo pas en grande con los proyectores Christie, que no dieron ning n problema ni en el ensamblaje in situ, ni en el proceso de instalaci n ni durante el concierto-proyecci n. El brillo y la intensidad lum nica de las im genes proyectadas en el O2 World dejaron boquiabiertos al cliente y a los asistentes al evento. Por eso pensamos seguir recurriendo una y otra vez a proyectores Christie para futuros proyectos , reconoce Bernstein.
