The Hulk gs on a rampage in Sou Africa

Filming for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron has just kicked off, and some interesting reports have sprung from its first location, Johannesburg in South Africa. Second unit crews are there to shoot some action sequences, without the main cast, in the Central Business District of Johannesburg for two weeks, before the production moves north to Italy.

All Marvel fans will know that Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on comics superhero team the Avengers. It will be the second Avengers film following 2012s Marvels The Avengers and the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

While the studio wanted to keep the filming a low key affair, word has it that things got quite eventful over the weekend, with sightings of a huge green head on set, which can only mean the Hulk.

A Jo-berg local, Ismail Ebrahim , told ComicBookMovie that:

I could make it out clearly because they use a huge green head whenever theyre filming Hulk scenes...they used a guy dressed normally but had on a backpack with 2 iron poles holding up hulks chest upwards and then he was doing whatever he had to do...scaring the people. By the looks of it, Hulk will probably play a major role in the Johannesburg shoot.

Ebrahim also mentions that the Hulk gets tossed into trucks and there are lots of extras fleeing away from what appears to be the Green Goliath.

While we can only speculate at this point, this information might lead us to believe a number of things about the new movie.

It has been rumored that the first ten minutes of this new movie is taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa. Could this potentially mean that we will see the Hulk in full steam from the outset, as opposed to his shrinking violet alter-ego Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo?

Dont expect to see any of the stars in full costume until March, when the principal photography will commence at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England. The rest of the footage will be filmed in the United States, Italy and South Korea.
