Last Week Tonight Implements MatrixStore To Manage Growing Archive

Object Matrix, the leading provider of hybrid cloud storage solutions to the media industry, has announced that it has provided 768TB of its award-winning MatrixStore object storage platform to the critically acclaimed American talk show Last Week Tonight'.

Hosted by comedian John Oliver, the HBO series takes a look at news, politics and current affairs and is watched by millions of viewers on a weekly basis. Last Week Tonight required an intelligent storage platform that was able to securely manage its growing archive whilst also ensuring clips, previous shows and out-takes discoverable at all times. By implementing a private cloud storage platform Last Week Tonight has greater flexibility, more content protection, wider sharing options and a future roadmap to adding more workflows be they on premises, off-premises or in the public cloud.

CineSys Oceana was tasked by Last Week Tonight with finding and implementing a solution that meets the increasing demand. Together, they concluded that the platform should be based on a secure object storage platform that would preserve its valuable content through its lifespan with the option of integrating further disaster recovery workflows in the future.
