
More than 50,000 Attendees, 400 Participating Companies Expected for the 2016 Event; GSMA Continues Partnership with Shanghai Digital Information Festival
Hong Kong: The GSMA today outlined the first details of the 2016 GSMA Mobile World Congress Shanghai, including confirmed exhibitors and sponsors, as well as a range of programmes and activities taking place at the annual mobile industry event. Under the theme Mobile Is Me', Mobile World Congress Shanghai will be held 29 June - 1 July 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The GSMA expects that more than 50,000 attendees, including professionals from across the mobile industry and adjacent sectors as well as consumers, will gather for the 2016 event.

The 2016 edition of Mobile World Congress Shanghai is shaping up to be our most ambitious yet, with an expanded exhibition and programmes, events and activities showcasing the full breadth of the mobile lifestyle.
Continued Partnership with Shanghai Digital Information Festival
Mobile World Congress Shanghai will again be held alongside the Shanghai Digital Information Festival at the SNIEC, with attendees having access to both events. The Festival will complement Mobile World Congress Shanghai with programmes, events and activities demonstrating how citizens can utilise technology in areas such as education, healthcare, travel and entertainment.
Our continued partnership with the GSMA to promote the activities of the Shanghai International Information Festival with Mobile World Congress Shanghai will have a positive impact in delivering a new information consumer experience, creating an atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship, said Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Commerce. This solid foundation of cooperation will enhance international collaboration and innovation exchanges to accelerate the development of Shanghai's information industry.
Mobile World Congress Shanghai to Showcase More Than 400 Companies
Expanding to cover four halls at the SNIEC, the Mobile World Congress Shanghai exhibition will showcase the leading products, services and technologies that are shaping the future of mobile, from handsets and devices to network infrastructure, software and services and much more. Huawei has been confirmed as a Platinum Event Partner and Snail Mobile as a Gold Event Partner and both companies will have a presence in the exhibition; they join more than 400 participating companies, including Acadine, Comba Telecom, Datang Telecom Technology & Industry Group, Empirix, FarEastone, Hewlett Packard, Kona-I, LeTV, Mediatek, Oberthur, Phicomm, RFS Radio Frequency System, Sandisk, SAP, SK Telecom, Sony Imaging, Visa and ZTE, among others. The show floor will also include regional pavilions from Israel, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
The GSMA Innovation City will again be a major highlight at Mobile World Congress Shanghai, enabling attendees to experience technology in context and see how mobile-connected products and services can improve their daily lives in industrial applications as well as home, automotive, health, agriculture and others. In addition, the exhibition will include focused areas such as the Connected Devices Zone, Future Tech Zone, Internet Planet and Start-Up Alley, as well as the Innovation and App Lab. Conference to Explore Latest Trends and Topics in Mobile
The conference at Mobile World Congress Shanghai will be held 29-30 June and will explore topics such as big data, devices, digital commerce, digital inclusion, enterprise mobility, financial services, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile broadband/network evolution, mobile identity and privacy, and security, among others. The Call for Papers for Mobile World Congress Shanghai is now open and prospective speakers can submit proposals through 23:59 PST on Friday, 22 January 2016. Global Device Summit - Attendees to the Global Device Summit will hear about innovative strategies and cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the user experience with smartphones, wearables and many other types of connected devices.
