Sky has released the official trailer for upcoming Sky Original series GOMORRAH - THE ORIGINS, the highly anticipated six-part prequel produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, part of ITV Studios, expanding the epic Sky Original crime saga inspired by Roberto Saviano's bestselling novel. The series is set to premiere early 2026 on Sky and streaming service NOW.

Set in 1977 Naples, the new series is an origin story tracing the criminal education of a very young Pietro Savastano. The story of how it all began - how the future mob boss will enter a criminal world, against the backdrop of a city in transformation: poor, rough-edged, marked by cigarette smuggling and on the brink of the heroin era. Gomorrah - The Origins will offer a fresh perspective on the roots of Pietro's power, capturing an era that shaped the face of modern crime.

The series was directed by Marco D'Amore, who helmed the first four episodes while also serving as co-writer and artistic supervisor. Francesco Ghiaccio has directed the final two episodes. The series was created by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli, and Roberto Saviano, and will be internationally distributed by Beta Film.

The series stars Luca Lubrano as the young and ambitious Pietro Savastano, Francesco Pellegrino (La Santa Piccola) as Angelo A Sirena, a reluctant gangster under pressure from a legacy he didnt choose; Flavio Furno (Il Candidato) as O Paisano, a convict who is rallying followers for a new kind of Camorra; Tullia Venezia as young Imma, a gifted musician with dreams that extend far beyond Naples; and Fabiola Balestriere (Veleno) as Annalisa Magliocca - and yet-to-become Scianel, still a young mother under the fist of her violent husband. Other cast members include Antonio Buono, Ciro Burzo, Luigi Cardone, Antonio Del Duca, Mattia Francesco Cozzolino, Junior Rancel Rodriguez Arcia, and Antonio Incalza.

The prequel Gomorrah - The Origins is based on the bestseller Gomorra written by Roberto Saviano, published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore. The bible and the outlines are written by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli and Roberto Saviano, the screenplays are written by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli and Marco D'Amore.

SERIES SYNOPSISGomorrah - The Origins set in 1977 s Naples. Pietro is a tough city kid who grew up in the poorest parts of Secondigliano. He and his friends survive any way they can, riding their mopeds around town and committing petty theft. But he has a big dream: to become like Angelo A Sirena, the neighborhoods king. When he manages to get in the graces of the young boss, he finds himself caught in a power game far beyond him. He ends up wondering whether this dark, violent criminal life is really what he wants or if his love for Imma can save him from such a fate.
