Viewers of the telenovelas The Wife are wondering why talented actress Mbali Mavimbela, who plays the role of Hlomu and Sannah Mchunu who plays Zodwa in Gomora were snubbed by the SAFTAs this year.

SAFTAS SNUB MBALI MAVIMBELA AND SANNAH MCHUNU Fans of Mbali Mavimbela and Sannah Mchunu are lambasting the SAFTAs for not nominating the actresses for this year's awards. Mavimbela played the character of Hlomu in The Wife for two seasons while Mchunu has been playing the character of Zodwa in Gomora for three seasons.

The Wife viewers were anticipating Mavimbela's SAFTA nomination as she was also snubbed at this year's DStv Viewers Choice Awards.
They don't pity Sannah Mchunu as much as she walked away with Favourite Actress Award for playing Zodwa at this year's DStv Awards.
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela also echoed the viewer's frustrations and added that Thando Thabethe from Housekeepers, Dali Malinga from Umkhokha, Ama Qamata from Blood and Water, and more actors should have been nominated this year.

For Mbali, I understood that if rumours of her being pregnant are true that on its own will ruin her career just when it was starting. I don't think the industry is friendly with newcomers who fall pregnant, especially in the middle of such a role as big as Hlomu.

Apparently I heard the production must submit the nominations on their behalf. Like Generations doesn t submit anymore that could mean an actor might not be celebrated and awarded
