Antares release AutoTune Advanced

Algorithm update & new DVA vibrato-detection engine

A new flagship version of Antares' iconic pitch-correction software has arrived, and along with a complete rebuild of its underlying algorithm, it introduces a new DVA engine that's said to be capable of recognising a singer's natural vibrato and leaving it intact.

At the core of AutoTune Advanced is an updated Auto-Mode pitch algorithm, which Antares say is the result of the largest engineering investment in AutoTune since its introduction. It promises to deliver the most accurate and clear automatic tuning yet, and comes alongside a new DVA engine that is capable of detecting and preserving a singer's natural vibrato. The engine automatically hears' vibrato and ensures it's left untouched by the plug-ins processing, with a real-time display offering a visual overview. There's also a new Vibrato FX tool that can be used to add some vibrato where it's not present.

Also new in the latest version is a Live mode that reduces processing latency to just 0.84ms at 44.1kHz, and an updated Formant Designer that can be used to make timbral changes to vocal tracks. There's a new 78-note Visual Keyboard display that makes quick work of setting up per-note behaviours, and a MIDI Perform mode that allows users to control the plug-in's tuning and Vibrato FX parameters from a MIDI keyboard.
