OBS PASSES ON SOCHI TIPS TO HBS - 21/02/2014 OBS and HBS, the two biggest dedicated host broadcast companies in the world, have had a strong relationship for many years and each of the two has invited the other to the various events it has worked on. While both companies have their own approach in regard to various aspects of their respective projects, they ultimately have much more in common and everything one of the two learns can prove hugely valuable to the other. Yiannis Exarchos, who became CEO of OBS following legendary Manolo Romero's retirement after the London Olympics in 2012, recently took HBS CEO Francis Tellier on a tour of the Sochi IBC, including OBS' numerous technical and production areas.

Once again OBS has overcome the many challenges presented by host broadcasting the Olympics, commented Francis, while continuing to provide its broadcasters top level coverage and state of the art (or better) innovations such as its multimedia offering.

As an added bonus, the two companies have some significant geographical overlap taking place at the moment: OBS is currently busy in Russia, where HBS has started planning the 2018 FIFA World Cup , while in Brazil less than four months remain before the kick-off of the 2014 FIFA World Cup , which will itself be followed by the 2016 Rio Olympics. Francis picked up some tips from Yiannis and his colleagues, with further informal discussions planned for the future.
