BACKENTERTAINMENT ONE PRE SELLS THE ROOKIE TO MORE THAN 160 TERRITORIES WORLDWIDE AHEAD OF MIPCOMLondon October 9, 2018 Leading into MIPCOM, global independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) announced today a raft of high-profile international sales for its highly-anticipated, new police procedural The Rookie starring 4-time Emmy -nominated star Nathan Fillion ( Castle, Firefly , Modern Family ). The Rookie will premiere on ABC (USA) and CTV (Canada) October 16th.

The series has been sold to over 160 territories globally including leading prestigious broadcasters M6 (France), Sky (UK), NBCUniversal International Networks (Latin America), RAI (Italy), TNT (Spain), Sony Pictures Television's networks (Portugal, CE, Russia), M-NET (Africa), Three (New Zealand), COSMOTE TV (Greece), and more.

The breakout hit at this year's LA Screenings, following a straight to series order, the show has continued to gain widespread acclaim resulting in significant pre sales to major international broadcasters leading up to MIPCOM.

Shot entirely on the streets of Los Angeles the highly sought after series reunites Executive Producer Alexi Hawley and Fillion of fan-favorite series Castle, which ran for eight seasons on ABC (USA) and remains one of the most widely-aired series around the world.

The Rookie is a premium quality and accessible series that seamlessly weaves in drama, heart and humor, commented Stuart Baxter, President of International Distribution. Inspired by a true story, the primetime series stars Fillion as John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD. At an age where most people are at the peak of their career, Nolan casts aside his comfortable, small town life and moves to L.A. to pursue his dream of being a cop. Nolan, surrounded by rookies twenty years his junior, must navigate the dangerous, humorous, and unpredictable world of the streets of L.A. as he makes his second shot at life count.

The Rookie also features an internationally successful ensemble cast including Melissa O'Neil ( Dark Matter ), Richard T. Jones ( Santa Clarita Diet ), Afton Williamson ( Shades of Blue ), Mercedes Mason ( Fear the Walking Dead ), Alyssa Diaz ( Ray Donovan ), Eric Winter ( Rosewood ) and Titus Makin Jr. ( The Path ).
