IBC 2026: Sennheiser Group to Showcase Broadcast Audio Portfolio

The Sennheiser Group will demonstrate its broadcast audio portfolio at IBC2026 (Hall 8, Booth D50), covering wireless microphone workflows, studio monitoring, and end-to-end broadcast signal chain integration across Sennheiser, Neumann, and SoundBase solutions.

Spectera Wireless Ecosystem

The Spectera bidirectional wideband wireless ecosystem will be shown alongside the new Spectera SKM handheld microphone, which begins shipping in mid-September. The SKM handheld completes the core Spectera product line, which combines microphones, in-ear monitors, and remote control and monitoring in one ecosystem.

Also on show is the Spectera Base Station ZMAN, which carries a Merging ZMAN audio network module for native ST 2110-30 audio integration. The Base Station ZMAN is expected to be available from October 2026. Spectera Command functionality, available as a Command Button for bodypack connection and as a Command Ring for the SKM handheld from October 2026, allows end users to mute audio or open a talkback channel.

Spectera was deployed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, including manufacturing samples of the SKM handheld, across multiple Base Stations for wireless mics, in-ear monitoring, and control. Sennheiser's EW-DX EM4 digital wireless system will also be on show.

SoundBase's RF planning and management application will be demonstrated, including full Spectera and Command functionality support. The application's Remote View tool allows broadcast productions to share live monitoring data with multiple team members without increasing network traffic.

Neumann Studio Monitors and Capsule Heads

Neumann will preview new additions to its studio monitor portfolio at IBC2026. Neumann will also unveil two new capsule heads: the KK 104 A (cardioid) and KK 105 A (supercardioid), which are designed for use with Sennheiser wireless systems including Spectera. The capsule heads succeed the KK 204 and KK 205 and feature improved handling noise suppression.

Broadcast Signal Chain Demonstration

A third booth area will demonstrate an end-to-end broadcast audio workflow across SMPTE 2110, Dante, NMOS, and Lawo HOME. The signal chain runs from capture via Sennheiser MKH series RF condenser microphones and EW-DX handheld microphones into a Merging Technologies HAPI modular audio interface, through monitoring via Neumann KH series studio monitors and Sennheiser HD 480 PRO and HD 490 PRO reference headphones, to augmentation via Ovation playout and show sequencer and Pyramix digital audio workstation.
