New Initiative from MetLife Resources Encourages K-12 Educators to Strategically Approach Retirement at Each Stage of Their Professional Life Charlotte, NC, August 24, 2015 - As the school year begins across the country, teachers are yet again focused on preparing students for successful futures. For most educators, students come first, but it's just as important for teachers to commit to their own lifetime of learning and financial success. A cornerstone of this new initiative is to broaden awareness among K-12 educators of their employer-sponsored retirement plans and the new tools available to them at 3r.metlife.com. Tools provided on the website can help educators assess their savings and align their progress with their overall retirement goals. The campaign also promotes the one-on-one retirement planning guidance MetLife financial services representatives provide to educators to encourage them to take advantage of this available resource.
MetLife understands that greater awareness can spur more confidence and better retirement outcomes, which are particularly important for educators. In fact, the LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute 2015 Plan Sponsor Study reports that K-12 administrators feel that only 41% of their employees will be financially prepared for retirement.
