DHD to Introduce its Third-Generation Audio Mixing Consol...

DHD.audio has chosen IBC 2026 as the launch venue for what it defines as one of the most radical advances in the companys 30 year history.

Every broadcast trade show promotes a message of accelerating change, comments Marc Herrmann, DHD Managing Director: Technology advancement makes good reading, notably the transition from dedicated hardware to generic-platform software and from studio-centric to cloud-linked production, as well as the adoption of new signal formats, file formats and transmission standards. But the grass-roots reality is the opposite: 24/7 operation, shrinking budgets and 15-year investment cycles. We have long recognised that and will this year be introducing a new third-generation audio mixing console, optimised to support the evolution in production workflows exemplified by the EBUs Dynamic Media Facility initiative.

DHDs design and development approach centres on modular audio production consoles networked to modular processing cores. Modules can be added to match new or expanded workflow, consoles can be configured to support new tasks, and cores can be exchanged to deliver higher signal processing capacity.

DHD product renewal happens in waves, never all at once. When the third generation of DHD digital processing cores arrived in 2020, they were fully compatible with existing DHD control surfaces. DHD will be introducing its third generation console surface at IBC 2026, protecting customers investment through compatibility with existing DHD cores. Built to last does not mean staying the same. It means achieving change efficiently and cost-effectively.

The new console will remain under wraps until the first day of the show. Get to grips with it on DHD stand 8.B46 at the September 11th-14th 2026 International Broadcasting Convention in the RAI Amsterdam.
