Los Angeles, CA - July 17, 2014 - Talpa Media Group has announced Jay Bienstock as its new CEO for Talpa Media USA. Bienstock joins Talpa Media USA from A. Smith & Co. where he most recently served as Managing Director. The announcement was made today by John de Mol, Owner of Talpa Media Group and Pim Schmitz, CEO of Talpa Media Group.

Bienstock joins Talpa Media USA on the heels of its Emmy winning (2013) and currently Emmy nominated hit series The Voice. John de Mol and Talpa created the successful series which airs here in the US on NBC and in over 55 countries worldwide. Coming this fall is also the highly anticipated Talpa created and produced series Utopia which will air here in the US on FOX and is, so far, commissioned in 5 other countries.

Emmy Award-winning producer Jay Bienstock began his career as a producer on VH-1s signature show Behind the Music. In 2000, Bienstock was part of the original team that would pioneer a groundbreaking genre of network television: CBSs Survivor. As showrunner of that landmark series, he garnered one Emmy and two additional nominations during his tenure on the first six seasons.

In 2001, Bienstock produced Eco-Challenge: Borneo, where he received his fourth Emmy nomination. Next, he developed and Executive Produced a new series for NBC - The Apprentice - and over the course of the first six seasons, he earned two more Emmy nominations. In addition to his six Emmy noms, Jay has been nominated for Producer of the Year in Non-Fiction Television by the Producers Guild and twice for Program of the Year by the Television Critics Association.

Bienstock has also developed and executive produced There Goes the Neighborhood, Dogs in the City, and the The American Baking Competition for CBS, Bachelor Pad for ABC, and 13: Fear is Real with film director Sam Raimi for The CW. In 2010, Jay formed Bienstock Young Media with Eugene Young and over the next several years, the company produced projects for CBS, A&E, TLC, CMT, as well as the series Animal Intervention for Nat Geo Wild and Times Up for MTV. Several years later, the company joined with A. Smith & Co. where Bienstock served as Managing Director.

As CEO of Talpa Media USA, he will oversee Talpas current slate of programming, focus on new development, and will be responsible for growing the company by implementing creative strategies to help generate new revenue streams.
