Haksul Muziq won the SAMPRA Artist of the Year Award at the 28th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) on Sunday 28 August. Moments after the announcement was made, many South Africans took to Twitter to express their disappointment and confusion about the win. Some tweeps asked themselves who is Haksul Muziq?

HAKSUL MUZIQ WINS SAMPRA ARTIST OF THE YEAR AT SAMA28 This year, the SAMPRA Artist of the Year Award was a public-vote category, which meant Mzansi had to vote for their favourite artists to take the award. On 3 June, 20 artists were announced as nominees for the award and a few weeks before the main event, the field was cut in half.

Haksul Muziq beat out the likes of Emtee, Young Stunna, A-Reece, Makhadzi and Jennifer Zamudio for the SAMPRA Artist of the Year Award.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate his win, Haksul Muziq wrote, Congratulations to us and the people who voted, you really showed love towards the journey, let's forget about the haters who didn't vote for their beloved artists.

CHYMAMUSIQUE IS SAMA28'S BIGGEST WINNER House producer Chymamusique walked away as the biggest winner at the SAMAs on Sunday 28 August. The multi-talented star won the Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Dance Album Awards at the event.
