MAGYAR TELEKOM: NEW ERA STARTS FOR THE FIXED NETWORK - 10 GB XGSPON, WIFI 7 AND NETWORK SECURITY COUNTRYWIDE

Magyar Telekom has reached another milestone: it has launched XGSPON technology covering the whole country, which takes the home and business connectivity experience to a new level with multi-gigabit internet speeds. Whether its home office, learning, gaming, content creation, or any business where upload speed is critical, now anyone can enjoy an outstanding digital experience. The company is the first in Deutsche Telekom Group to utilize the full speed of the XGSPON network on a nationwide level.

As a result of Magyar Telekoms multi-year network development program, the companys fiber network is now available at 3 million endpoints across the country, and from September 26, the vast majority of endpoints will also be able to use the full capacity of the advanced XGSPON fiber network technology, which is capable of theoretical speeds of 10 Gigabits. Residential customers can enjoy download speeds of 4 Gbps, while in the business segment, we provide the full effective capacity of the network - symmetrically 8000/8000 Mbit/s - for maximum performance.*

The network upgrade is accompanied by a worthy wired device: the tri-band Home Gateway, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm, uses the 6 GHz band in addition to the regular bands, which is a gamechanger in WiFi technology. The WiFi 7 standard allows connected devices to communicate stably and at lightning speed, avoiding network congestion.

Renewed fixed-line portfolio and security In addition to increasing speeds, Telekom also pays special attention to customers security. With the complete renewal of the fixed-line portfolio, extra features have become customizable, including Nonstop Wi-Fi and Net Security Plus. This service, which is also available for most mobile subscriptions, includes Cyber Insurance, which provides insurance coverage against online fraud, such as damage caused by phishing. With our multi-gigabit network introduced as part of the Country-tuning initiative and our related new wired offerings, we take the digital customer experience to a higher level.
