Sony brings 4K to productions of all sizes at BVE 04

Sony will use this years Broadcast Video Expo (BVE 2014) as an opportunity to showcase its latest tools for 4K production, with the PXW-Z100, NEX-FS700R and NEX-FS700RH* - which bring 4K production capability to a wide range of production professionals - on show for the first time in the UK. The show will also mark the UK debut of Sonys ground-breaking cloud production system, Ci, as well as the latest technologies in audio, display, and HD acquisition.

4K a reality for all productions

Following its launch at IFA 2013, visitors to the Sony stand at BVE 2014 (F32) will be able to get up close and personal with the PXW-Z100, which is bringing 4K shooting within reach of a much wider audience. With low price points, these new cameras democratise 4K acquisition and ensure that more people can enjoy beautiful 4K images. Alongside these cameras, the NEX-FS700R and FS700RH also add 4K acquisition capability to the hugely popular NEX-FS700, the camera of choice for many production professionals due to its excellent slow motion shooting capability. Sonys F-series large sensor cameras - the PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 4K digital cameras - will also be at the show.

The Cloud

After its European debut at IBC 2013, BVE represents the first UK showing of Sonys cloud production solution Ci. Enabling content storage, editing, and management via the cloud, through 3G, 4G, LTE, or WiFi internet connections, Ci enables impressive flexibility for production teams, who will be able to access their projects anywhere with a reliable internet connection.

Hybrid Digital Processing UWP-D wireless microphone series

Offering users the sound quality of digital audio processing combined with the reliability of analogue FM modulation, Sonys hybrid wireless microphone series includes new transmitters, receivers, and microphones which work together to provide impressive natural sound quality. Scheduled for availability in March 2014, the UWP-D series is ideal for electronic newsgathering and field production

Full HD multi-format LCD monitors LMD-A series

Part of the broad redesign of Sonys professional monitor line-up, the new LMD-A series includes 24, 22, and 17 inch models, each of which is lighter and slimmer than previous LCD models, as well as consuming approximately 25 to 30 per cent less power**. Perfect for studio or field use, the LMD-A220 will be available from February 2014, while the LMD-A240 and LMD-A170 will be available from March 2014

NXCAM HXR-NX3 professional handheld HD camcorder

With built-in WiFi technology, Sonys latest Full HD NXCAM enables users to seamlessly connect with other devices, enabling capabilities such as remote control or wireless content transfer. The HXR-NX3s Exmor 3CMOS Sensor system, Sony G lens, and LSI technology work together to achieve impressive image quality, making the camera ideal for videographers and documentarians
