Unveils New Version of SliceX for FCP X Powered By mocha

Imagineer to Preview New mocha 3.2 with Added Internationalization and Localization,

and Support for Contour ShuttlePro

GUILDFORD, UK (March 26, 2013) -- Imagineer Systems, creators of the Academy Award winning mocha Planar Tracking technology, today announced it has partnered with CoreMelt to integrate Imagineer's Planar Tracker into SliceX, the shape masking plug-in for FCP X. SliceX is available for demonstration at the Imagineer Systems booth at NAB 2013 during the week of April 8, 2013 at booth #SL3329 in the Plug In Pavilion in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Imagineer's relationship with CoreMelt is the most recent in a string of partnerships in which industry leading post production technology developers have recognized the value of Imagineer's Planar Tracking and software developer's kit (Planar Tracker SDK). In recent months, Imagineer has entered into strategic partnerships and licensing agreements with companies such as Adobe Systems, Silhouette, Quantel and FXhome.

Additionally, Imagineer Systems announced it will preview new versions of mocha Pro and mocha AE during NAB 2013. In the new mocha v3.2 versions, Imagineer adds internationalization and localization support, which includes translated interface and documentation versions of mocha 3.2 for Chinese and Japanese language, as well as a new toolkit made available for additional language versions in the future.

mocha v3.2 also adds support for Contour ShuttlePro controllers to allow artists more options, shortcuts and a speedier workflow.

NAB 2013 Guest Presenters

During NAB 2013, Imagineer Systems will host renowned VFX industry experts in their booth, demonstrating the value of mocha in their workflow. Guest presenters include:

Aaron Benitez and Zach King: Guest presenters, Aaron Benitez and Zach King are the creative team behind the popular YouTube channels; VFX Bro and Final Cut King. Aaron and Zachs work has been seen by millions of viewers in popular viral videos such as: Jedi Kittens and The Hunt for Pikachu. Aaron and Zach will be presenting some of their work and talking about how they use mocha AE and mocha Pro in their creative process.

Roger Bolton, CoreMelt: Roger is the founder of CoreMelt and a visual effects veteran with over 15 years experience in post production and whose list of feature film credits include Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Roger has worked as a visual effects supervisor, senior flame operator and lead compositor all over Asia as well as in the UK and Australia. Roger will be presenting SliceX, the Final Cut Pro X masking plug-in now powered by mochas planar tracking engine.

Imagineer's Mary Poplin, the Los Angeles based product specialist for Imagineer Systems, will will also be demonstrating mocha Pro. Mary is an experienced visual effects artist who has worked on major 3D Hollywood feature films such as The Last Airbender, Gullivers Travels, and Jackass 3D. As Imagineer Systems west coast product specialist, Mary consults with studios and provides hands on training to help evangelizethe power of mocha and planar tracking.

mocha: Academy Award Winning Technology

In February 2013, Imagineer Systems was honored by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences with a Scientific and Technical Award for mocha and its Planar Tracking technology. Imagineer Systems' Philip McLauchlan, Allan Jaenicke, John-Paul Smith and Ross Shain were selected as a winner for mocha and its underlying Planar Tracking technology. The Company was recognized for their proven record of contributing significant value to the post-production process of making motion pictures.

Over the years, Imagineer's mocha software has gained acclaimed notoriety within Hollywood's visual effects community for its ability to motion track problematic footage such as out of focus and marker-less areas helping enable a technique called digital makeup' or seamless effects.' Visual effects artists use planar tracking to magically transform actors and locations without requiring timely makeup sessions and expensive sets, allowing directors to make important creative decisions long after the performance has been captured. Capturing accurate movement is essential and mocha has been involved in some famous digital makeup examples such as the snake-like noseless Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films, replacing Mystique's eyes in X-Men and helping Natalie Portman undergo an amazing transformation in Black Swan.
