newScale Joins NetApp Alliance Partner Program newScale Provides Dynamic Self-Service Provisioning for Cloud Computing and Virtualized Data Centers
SAN MATEO, Calif., September 8, 2010 - newScale Inc., pioneers of the self-service IT storefront for the enterprise, today announced its membership in the NetApp Alliance Partner Program as an Advantage Alliance Partner. With this partnership, newScale will help more NetApp customers achieve efficiency in their dynamic data centers and progress on their journey to cloud computing.
Cloud computing requires self-service ordering from a catalog of standard options, delivered on-demand with automated provisioning and pay-per-use consumption, said Scott Hammond, president and CEO of newScale. As a NetApp Alliance Partner, we look forward to helping our mutual customers achieve this vision for IT as a service.
The mutual goal of both companies is to help customers deliver IT infrastructure services with greater agility, flexibility, efficiency, and governance. newScales software provides a Web-based menu of standardized service options, with dynamic self-service provisioning and lifecycle management across storage, network, and compute environments. Users of the newScale solutions and NetApp storage will have easy, yet controlled, on-demand access to shared IT storage infrastructure - instead of waiting days or weeks.
Earlier this year, newScale introduced a major release, newScale 9, with an easy-to-use e-commerce ordering experience, policy-based management, and lifecycle tracking for desktop and data center services across cloud, virtual, and physical compute environments. Last week, newScale 9 was selected as the Best of VMworld 2010 in the new category of private cloud computing.
Service providers developing IT-as-a-service offerings can now use newScale software to provide policy-based controls and self-provisioning from a catalog of standardized storage-on-demand, compute-on-demand, and network-on-demand services.
