PHABRIX adds features across the range and introduces its new Qx at IBC 2015 Hall 10 B12
PHABRIX has been developing its new next generation' Qx UHDTV test and measurement technology for release at IBC 2015. Having received a Best of Show' at NAB 2015, the Qx provides manufacturers with a comprehensive toolset for both analysis and generation of video signals with up to 48 Gbps payloads and importantly provides 12Gbps eye and jitter analysis.
Key to the Qx is the toolset which includes sophisticated timing, video status and data view instruments. Eye and jitter analysis is important for those early adopters of UHDTV1 and UHDTV2 and it is here that the Qx excels for engineers. Having specialised in providing physical layer analysis on its other test and measurement products, PHABRIX has in the Qx what is claimed to be an industry first - a true multi-rate eye and jitter solution for 12/6/3/1.5 Gbps. This real time' eye technology meets or exceeds the performance of that found in very expensive oscilloscope solutions usually far out of reach of many broadcast R&D budgets, a definite USP for the company. The platform too has been specified to such a high level that when Phase 2 standards of UHDTV become available, the Qx is set to provide support for HDR, WCG, HFR and object orientated audio technologies.
Phil Adams, PHABRIX's managing director commented, The Qx is a revolutionary product. Our entire R&D team of broadcast specialists have been focussed on producing a unique solution for the industry that goes way beyond the initial technological requirements for testing UHDTV. The Qx offers an exciting and new client/server proposition which will transform customer expectations from test and measurement instrumentation and with its hybrid' ability to support both SDI and IP, we believe the Qx is the same disruptive technology' synonymous with PHABRIX innovation. At IBC 2015 our loyal customers will see the investment we have put into this technology and it is our aim to convey why the Qx should be the product of choice for UHDTV development now and through to Phase 2. The Qx will be available in October 2015 and already we have been overwhelmed by the early orders for our technology.'
One of the features still under development, but part of the Qx solution is its support initially for SMPTE ST 2022-6 with 2022-2 to follow over 10GE network connections. Clearly as the industry decides the future infrastructures to support, the Qx hybrid' solution provides a future proof investment for today and tomorrow. Broadcast budgets are continually under review so purchasers of the Qx technology will be pleasantly surprised how cost effective this technology is from PHABRIX.
PHABRIX have not been holding back with their traditional SDI instruments either and there is much to see in their handheld and rack mount instruments for test and measurement.
At IBC the Rx rack mount range of rasterizers are updated to V9.03 providing extensive new audio instruments to add to the video complement. In addition single channel closed caption 608/708, OP47 and WSS and Loudness monitoring is standard on new Rx purchases with an option to take each to four channel monitoring if required. A new frame grab feature adds additional QC support.
The Sx range benefits from a new A/V delay generator and inclusion of a VANC/ANC signal monitoring grid. The SxE has a new complementary advanced eye and jitter toolset with additional jitter instrument and celebrates over 5000 sales since its release.
The TAG handheld with on-board SFP cage now provides support for optical, copper and HDMI SFP's. This amazing combined generator, analyzer and monitor as the TAGC has complete support for analogue, SDI and optical interfaces. With a HDMI SFP the toolset can now display EDID data, a welcome addition to the most versatile hand held on the market today and at a cost effective price.
PHABRIX have moved to a larger stand in Hall 10 B12. With so much on show, it's going to be a popular stand.
