Sony introduces a new 3D system with which expands its range of digital cinema solutions in 4K The new solution will enable project showrooms 3D content across two 4K projectors models compliant with the DCI specifications: SRX-R320SP and SRX-R515P.

Sony Digital Cinema returns to expand the supply of 3D products with the introduction of a new system intended for stereoscopic film industry.

The new solution, already available in the entire European continent, enable project showrooms 3D content through two 4K projectors models comply with DCI specifications: SRX-R320SP and SRX-R515P. Each one of them works with a polarizing filter (el LKRA-005) and the exclusive dual objectives of Sony. The combined 3D format to offer 4K projection image quality and a sense of immersion that wow audiences that go to theaters.

3D sin triple flash

The advanced 3D projectors Sony Digital Cinema 4K is based on two objectives simultaneously sending images intended for left and right eyes to offer a more comfortable and better suited to the operation of the human eye. The result is a depth of field and a perception so real that the viewer feel part of the action. Conventional 3D systems use a method that first triple flash projects the image of the left eye and then the right of a total of 144 times per second. The Sony solution significantly reduces the viewers perceive flicker that some such systems with.

David McIntosh, senior vice president of Sony Digital Cinema, admits that the arrival of our new 3D Sony confirmed as the major supplier of integrated solutions for film. The ability to deliver the spray, the server, the room management system, remote monitoring service and local support allows Sony and its distributors provide a truly superior visual experience to all customers. Sonys new offering is already experiencing strong demand. Premiere Cinemas theaters were the first Europeans to install Sony 3D Digital Cinema. Located in the commercial center of Prague Park Hostivar, are prepared to project 3D movies in four of its eight rooms.

David Jelinek, representative of Premiere Cinemas, recognizes that the new Sony 3D solution has had a significant impact on our business. It just means that we can offer a greater variety of content to viewers, it helps us to give life to movies and make the audience feel closer to the action and fully immerse in it.

David Horacek, another member of the company, adds that for us, the decision to choose Sony Digital Cinema 3D was easy. Being the only 4K technology multiplexes Prague, our goal was that the 3D projections had a quality similar to that offered in 2D. With Sony Digital Cinema 3D, we have achieved that goal and our customers can now enjoy the best movie experience possible in the Czech Republic.

The 3D of Sony Digital Cinema 4K also allows showrooms technology using high frame (HFR) without the technical constraints imposed by other 3D systems. Since Sonys solution uses the flash, customers do not need to change the frequency of repeated images (triple, double or single), and projector and polarizing filter system kept in sync.

Projectors and 4K SRX-SRX-R515P R320SP Sony are fully compliant with the DCI specifications (Digital Cinema Initiatives).
