Berklee Awards Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant to Four Organizations A total of $17,000 will be distributed among the Boston-based nonprofits.

Berklee is pleased to announce that four Boston-based nonprofits will be awarded funding from the Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program.

A total of $17,000 will be distributed among the organizations: Fenway CDC/Community Center, Emerald Necklace Conservancy, Inc., Fenway Community Center at Viridian, Inc., and Fenway Civic Association. The grants will allow for a range of activities, such as free community yoga classes, a revitalizing public space, a Fenway Free Market, and tree plantings.

Enhancing the quality of life in the Fenway neighborhood is of utmost importance to Berklee, said Kaitlin Passafaro, Berklees vice president of Community and Government Relations. We are proud to continue supporting the initiatives that contribute to the strength and vitality of this historic neighborhood.

The Berklee Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program was launched in 2023 and is funded solely by the college as part of the institution's ongoing commitment to the Fenway neighborhood. Applications were open only to Boston organizations and/or residents with initiatives meeting three criteria:

Occur within and enhance the Fenway neighborhood.

Should be publicly accessible and free.

Provide a public benefit or serve a public need.

Fenway CDC is excited to be partnering again with Berklee to support our free market event, said Corinne Fisher, communication and grants manager at Fenway Community Development Corporation. With the help of Berklee College of Music, Fenway CDC along with the Fenway Community Center can host this monthly event that brings together the whole Fenway neighborhood and promotes sustainable consumption, socialization, and most importantly, community!
