The LOTTO is played by South Africans every day, but do you know how to say lottery in South African sign language? SASL was accepted as the 12th official language. With jackpot draws getting a lot more popular this year, it can be important to know how to refer to it in several languages!

Here's how to sign lottery in SA Sign Language.

More about South African Sign Language More than 600, 000 South Africans are proficient in SA Sign Language, according to the Department of South African SIgn Language and Deaf Studies.

South African Sign Language is not exactly the same as other forms of Sign Language, such as American. Words are similar, although the order of words and sentences can be different.

Hearing and partially hearing people also learn Sign Language to communicate with family, friends, and colleagues who know it.

Words like lottery have an equivalent sign (or sometimes several of them!), but other ones like LOTTO might be easier to fingerspell by-the-letter.
