Netflix has doubled its stage capacity as Tres Cantos, the company's production facility in Madrid.
The expansion takes the number of available stages from five to ten and also includes a multi-purpose space of more than 22,000 m2 that includes production offices, makeup, hair and wardrobe areas.
Tres Cantos, which first opened in 2019, also features the first remote editing system in Spain, with 30 new rooms which Netflix says will make it easier for creatives to work on projects from anywhere in Spain or Europe.
The expansion at Tres Cantos will enable Netflix to bring original stories made in Spain' to the world, it added.
Netflix said that since its first production in Spain, Las Chicas del Cable, in 2016 it has created over 10,000 jobs and worked with over 40 local production companies.
The hub will be used by directors lex and David Pastor, on a spin-off of the Sandra Bullock film, Bird Box spinoff. They said the new facility allows them to tell stories big and ambitious, in which the only limit is the desires of the own creator.
