Five Berklee Alumni Win Emmy Awards The recipients were recognized for their work on the acclaimed programs The Bear, Sho gun, and Billy Joel: The 100th-Live at Madison Square Garden.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented five Berklee alumni with awards for their work in sound editing and sound mixing ahead of the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place Sunday, September 15.

At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, ADR editor Ayako Yamauchi BM '10 and music editor Melissa Muik BM '01 received Emmys in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour) for their work on FX's acclaimed drama Sho gun. Music editors Jason Lingle BM '99 and Jeff Lingle '95 won awards in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation for FX's critically beloved The Bear.

Rerecording mixer Brian Riordan BM '95 also took home an award for his work in the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special for Billy Joel: The 100th-Live At Madison Square Garden on CBS.

Overall, 21 Berklee alumni received Emmy nominations this year for sound mixing, sound editing, songwriting, music composition, and other contributions to television programming.
