Has Smoke and Mirrors popular character Mtheto been replaced by Detective Phakathi?

MTHETHO REPLACED? The TVSA Smoke and Mirrors May teasers reveal that Mtheto (Kabomo Vilakazi) will get buried, and Detective Phakathi will return.

Viewers of the telenovela were introduced to Detective Phakathi played by Melusi Yeni in season one when Sindi died.

Wednesday 8 May: Jaxon panics about Phakathi being in town but Caesar insists they can handle the man.

Yeni is famously known for his TV roles in Imbewu: The Seed, Generations, Muvhango and Rhythm City.

Mthetho exited the show on Friday, 12 April at the end of season one on Thandiswa and Caesar's (Hlomla Dandala) wedding day.

Vilakazi's character was a police officer, engaged to be married to Leeroy (JT Medupe) in the fictional town called Emnyameni.

SMOKE AND MIRRORS': MORE SPOILERS Smoke and Mirrors May teasers also reveal that Virginia (Zinhle Mabena) will place Thandiswa (Ayanda Bandla) in a casket.

Monday 13 May: Mthetho's funeral gets underway and Thandiswa finds herself trapped inside his casket.

The teasers also reveal that Virginia will get arrested by Phakathi when Thandiswa points her.

Tuesday 14 May: The whole funeral party is shocked to find that Virginia has made a run for it, after Thandiswa points a finger at her. Virginia is later arrested by Phakathi as she is trying to make her escape.

The may teasers also reveal that fan-favourite character, Petunia (Kgaogelo Monama) will return.
