Ross demonstrates unified solutions for live venue control and mobile production

Latest generation of advanced infrastructure solutions for 12G SDI and IP workflows on show

Ottawa, Canada, October 22nd 2018 Ross Video is pleased to announce a focus on advanced connectivity solutions at this year's Broadcast India show (October 25-27th, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai). Ross will again be exhibiting, and you can find us on booth A101 throughout the show. As part of the event, Ross will be demonstrating a unified venue control solution for sports venues comprising a Carbonite production switcher, XPression graphics and Ross DashBoard control interface with custom control panels. Commenting on the system, Ross Video's Director of Sales for APAC, Andrew Tan, points to its flexibility as a key advantage. This year we're showing how a cricket ground might use our sports solution and how we can control all the elements of a live production, from video screens, scoreboards and digital signage, to third party devices such as lighting and pyrotechnics.

The show will also see the Indian debut of the award-winning Ultrix-FR5, Ross Video's innovative routing/AV processing platform that can replace 5 full racks of traditional infrastructure products with a single 5RU product. Ultrix has been an immediate success and has very quickly proved it can save broadcasters significant amounts of time, money and labour , notes Andrew Tan. It's also ideal for mobile production environments and OB vans because it offers so much important functionality in such a compact package .

In addition, Ross will be highlighting its latest range of signal processing solutions for IP, 12G SDI and hybrid workflows, including:

Newt - compact, quiet and robust UHD-over-IP SDI/HDMI signal conversion

Gator - offers high-density, multi-channel processing of UHD content on a compact modular card

Raptor - up to 60 video streams and 960 audio streams of signal conversion in a compact, 2RU openGear chassis

It is clear that the speed of adoption of IP is increasing , notes Andrew Tan, but many of our customers with existing SDI equipment are looking for ways to meet creative, business and technical challenges that don't require a wholesale change of infrastructure and workflow. Ross was a very early champion of 12G SDI and our latest connectivity products recognise that hybrid production models are going to be a fact of life in the industry for many years to come. 12G SDI represents a powerful, accessible and very cost-effective upgrade path for content creators; there is no reason for anyone to believe that IP is the only option available .
