Telestream is highlighting its range of video tools for educators at this year's FETC at booth 2514 (Orange County Convention Center, Orlando FL, January 12-15 2016).
Visitors to the Telestream booth will be able to see how the company's digital media tools allow educators to easily and cost-effectively bring hands on technology education to students, as well as provide professional tools to flip their classroom' and extend the reach of their lectures, sporting events, and other school events to any audience, regardless of where they are located.
Show attendees will be able to see how Wirecast, the company's live streaming production software lets teachers and students create their own professional live shows for daily PA announcements, or for broadcasting school concerts and sporting events. Already widely used in schools and colleges around the country, Wirecast also enables streaming and recording of lectures to provide distance learning to students who cannot attend classes, such as home schooled children or those with illnesses or disabilities. Wirecast enables the creation of live webcasts that combine multiple live video cameras, movies, computer desktops, audio tracks, images and titles to make striking broadcasts for the Web.
Using Wirecast, students themselves are able to produce and stream important, milestone school events, such as band concerts and graduations, all while learning valuable digital media skills that prepare them for careers that increasingly require video skillsets, as demonstrated by the students of Amherst Middle School near Buffalo, NY.
When we decided to replace our daily PA announcements with more engaging 5 minute daily video newscasts, we needed an affordable system for live production and media streaming that would let us do sophisticated real-time video effects, like green screen keying, yet still be user-friendly and intuitive for students of every skill level. From the moment we first looked at Wirecast, we were instantly impressed with its screen layout, features, workflow and capabilities. The set-up was so easy, it wasn't long before we went live with Wirecast, explains Rob Zdrojewski, Technology Educator who set up the program for Amherst Middle School.
Also showcased on the Telestream booth is Wirecast Go, a live streaming app that lets iPhone users turn their device into a mobile broadcast studio. Available free of charge from the iTunes store, Wirecast Go enables educators everywhere to create live productions with a professional look and feel and send them directly to YouTube and other RTMP servers live.
FETC attendees will also see how teachers and online trainers use Telestream's ScreenFlow screencasting and video editing software to record lectures, tutorials, and other rich-media presentations. Many educators successfully use ScreenFlow to flip their classroom - recording high quality video presentations for students to view for homework, and using class time for more personalized learning. With ScreenFlow, educators and online trainers can create professional quality education and training screencasts and video tutorials that simultaneously capture screen activity, video camera, microphone and computer audio, and then allow users to edit recordings and publish finished videos to the web.
Google Certified Teacher, and founder of educational resources website TeacherCast.net, Jeff Bradbury, has been creating several educational screencasts every week for over 10 years now using ScreenFlow. With the amount of content we create for the website every week, I need to have a screencasting setup that allowed me to create, edit, and export content very quickly. There are times when I'm creating an online course and need to create 20 or more screencasts in a weekend. ScreenFlow not only allows me to keep consistent quality but also enables me to export a large amount of videos all at once.
