GoPro Channel Hits Two Million Installations and 50 Million Minutes Consumed on Microsoft Platforms

In January, 2014, GoPro announced the launch of The GoPro Channel apps for Xbox video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft. A year later, the app had been downloaded by more than one million users. Today, we're psyched to share another massive milestone: The GoPro Channel has topped more than two million app installations on Xbox and Windows platforms, with users consuming 50 million minutes of engaging GoPro content, worldwide.

The GoPro Channel allows Xbox members to stream the latest GoPro content on-demand and share their favorite videos. From scuba diving and snowboarding to music, motorsports, kids and pets, The GoPro Channel on Xbox broadcasts life's diverse passions from a perspective only GoPro cameras could capture.

This is a huge milestone for GoPro content and for our relationship with Xbox, said Jon Cohen, GoPro's Director of Distribution. More than 50 million minutes of GoPro content has been consumed by two million Xbox members who've downloaded and installed The GoPro Channel. And with viewers watching an average of nine videos per session, this proves our content continues to resonate around the world.

With more than 1,200 videos available and content ranging from animals to kids and extreme sports, The GoPro Channel offers something for everyone. In fact, top-performing videos demonstrate our viewers' diverse interests: Surfing Pig, Epic Roof Jump, Roof Top Ping Pong, Duncan the Dog, and Ram vs Dirtbiker.

In addition to Xbox gaming and entertainment systems, The GoPro Channel is available on Sony PlayStation, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Red Bull TV, in-flight on Virgin America, and social channels including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, Pinterest and gopro.com/channel.
