What are the key themes of the AV Broadcast Summit, and why have you chosen them? Mke Blackman, managing director, Integrated Systems Events The AV Broadcast Summit (Wednesday, 5 February 2025, from 10:30 to 17:00 at CC5.2) will explore the latest trends and technologies available to corporates and brands for creating their own broadcast content, enabling them to become their own broadcasters. These themes were chosen to reflect the rapid advancements in technology and the growing demand for high-quality, real-time content. By focusing on these areas, we aim to provide attendees with valuable insights into the latest trends and innovations shaping the industry.
Can you tell us about any speakers you think attendees should watch out for? The AV Broadcast Summit at ISE 2025 will explore the latest trends and technologies in content production and distribution for corporates and brands,
Keynote Speaker: Louis Hernandez Jr from Black Dragon Capital [and Grass Valley] will deliver insights on the convergence of media in various industries, including finance, retail, and corporations.
Industry Trends: Caretta Research's Rebecca Jackson will present the latest industry trends and data on the convergence of broadcast and pro AV technologies.
Case Study: A high-profile case study will show how a Middle East client built a broadcast-quality media centre, becoming an AV broadcaster.
Corporate Studio Production: Swiss system integrator Ganz Supravision and Canon Europe will discuss how corporations can create broadcast-quality content in small studio spaces.
Virtual Production Technologies: Florian Galler will discuss the latest advancements in virtual production technologies and their application in corporate content creation.
Democratisation of Media Tech: Chris Evans from IABM will present new analysis and data on the democratisation of Media Tech and its business implications.
Outside of the Summit, attendees should also definitely watch out for our Creative Keynote speaker, the Italian digital artist Quayola. His keynote will give visitors fascinating insights into his projects, including the mesmerising Arborescent projection mapping experience on Casa Batll , which takes place on 1st and 2nd February as ISE kicks off in Barcelona.
Celebrated for his pioneering fusion of technology and art, Quayola will also deliver a special performance on Tuesday, 4th February, on the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via's award-winning South Access Welcome Screen. This performance provides both the citizens of Barcelona and ISE visitors with another chance to witness his extraordinary creative talents in action.
Additionally, Brian Solis, the renowned digital analyst and innovation leader, will present the Opening Keynote on Tuesday, 4th February at 13:00, discussing AI's potential to drive innovation in the pro AV and systems integration industry. Our keynotes take place in room CC4.1 and are free to attend.
How would you say the convergence between AV and broadcast has developed since ISE 2024? Since ISE 2024, the convergence between AV and broadcast has significantly reshaped the market. This integration allows AV professionals to adopt more sophisticated production methods and tools, enhancing the quality and variety of their projects. The growing demand for high-quality, real-time content, made possible by advanced broadcasting technologies, is driving innovation and creating new business opportunities within the AV sector.
How far do you think that convergence can go? The convergence between AV and broadcast can go very far, as it is being enabled by a wide range of rapidly growing technologies. This integration allows for immersive multi-sensory experiences that extend beyond the conventional live event and broadcast environment. The adoption of IP technology has also helped bridge the gap between AV and broadcast systems by offering a common, flexible, and cost-effective infrastructure.
What do you think brands can learn from broadcasters, and vice versa? Brands can learn from broadcasters the importance of creating dynamic and visually compelling content to drive viewer engagement and expand their reach. Conversely, broadcasters can learn from brands how to target specific audiences with highly produced films for internal communications or marketing on platforms like YouTube. This mutual learning can lead to more effective communication and engagement strategies.
How are new technologies such as AI impacting the convergence between the two sectors? AI is significantly impacting the convergence between AV and broadcast by enabling features like automated content recommendations, voice control, and image upscaling. These advancements are revolutionising the pro AV industry and enhancing the capabilities of AV equipment. AI's integration into AV systems is driving innovation and creating new opportunities for content creation and distribution.
What do you hope attendees and exhibitors will take away from ISE 2025? We hope that attendees and exhibitors will take away a deeper understanding of the latest trends and innovations
