IBC2026 to Spotlight AI, Live Sports Production, Creator Economy, and Trust in Media

IBC has unveiled the conference program for IBC2026, with this year's event placing a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence, live sports production, streaming, the creator economy, and the evolving business models shaping the media and entertainment industry.

Scheduled for Sept. 11-13 at the RAI Amsterdam, the three-day conference is organized around the themes of Shifting Business Models, Transformative Tech, and People & Purpose, bringing together executives from broadcasters, sports organizations, technology companies, streaming platforms, and media brands.

Artificial intelligence will serve as a central theme throughout the program, with sessions examining how AI is moving from experimentation to deployment across content creation, production, distribution, and newsroom workflows. The conference opens with a keynote from Eline van der Velden, Founder and CEO of Particle 6, who will discuss AI's growing role in creative production alongside AI-generated actor Tilly Norwood.

Additional AI-focused sessions will feature executives from organizations including Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), Canal+, CNN, ITN, Respeecher, and Bertelsmann, covering topics ranging from AI-assisted production workflows to the technology's impact on media operations.

Live sports production will also be a major focus, with sessions featuring representatives from FIFA, OBS, UEFA, Liga Portugal, and the Women's Super League exploring how artificial intelligence, data, rights management, distribution, and fan engagement are reshaping sports media.

OBS CEO Yiannis Exarchos is scheduled to participate in a panel examining large-scale live sports production, while additional discussions will explore how audiences' expectations for personalized, real-time viewing experiences are influencing production and distribution strategies.

Other sessions will examine evolving production workflows for streaming platforms, with Netflix Vice President of Production Anna Mallett discussing international production models, virtual production, cloud-based postproduction, and AI-assisted workflows. A keynote from YouTube will focus on collaboration between broadcasters and digital platforms, while additional panels will address the growing influence of the creator economy, media consolidation, and brand-driven content strategies.

The conference will also explore topics including audience discovery and curation in an all-IP environment, content authenticity and provenance, media security, and the future of broadcast technology.

In addition to its conference sessions, IBC2026 will once again feature its Technical Papers Programme, highlighting peer-reviewed research on subjects including AI production, trust and provenance, XR, multiview workflows, television distribution, media facility design, and AI-driven content indexing.
