Durham Icons Partner for Third Annual Collaboration
Two revered Bull City icons will partner on Thursday, August 13, 2015, for a celebration of music and baseball on the third annual Merge Records Night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Durham-based independent label Merge Records will curate Bulls' player at-bat music and Stuart McLamb, front man of Merge band The Love Language, will perform the National Anthem prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Norfolk Tides.
New for 2015, fans purchasing an $8.99 Terrace View ticket to the game can get a limited edition sampler CD of this season's featured at-bat songs. The ticket/CD combo is available here using the code MERGE. The CD's artwork, a collaborative project between the team and label's design departments, features the DBAP's famous Snorting Bull.

The Durham Bulls begin a 10-game homestand on Friday, July 31 featuring visits from the Gwinnett Braves, Indianapolis Indians, and Louisville Bats. The team plays 21 home games during the final full month of the regular season, including Merge Records Night on Thursday, August 13. Tickets are available online at durhambulls.com, by phone at 919.956.BULL or at the DBAP ticket office.

Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance are the co-founders of Merge Records, an independent record label based in Durham, NC, and co-authors of the book Our Noise: The Story of Merge Records. Since its founding in 1989, Merge has put out over 500 releases by a wide range of artists including The Mountain Goats, Hiss Golden Messenger, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Magnetic Fields, The Love Language, Wye Oak, Caribou, Destroyer, and Arcade Fire. Several of the label's albums have received numerous accolades, including the Polaris Music Prize, NME Awards, Juno Awards, and others. Arcade Fire's The Suburbs won four Juno Awards and two Grammy awards, including the 2011 Grammy for Album of the Year.
