Cantemo Announces API Integration with AWS Elemental Server

Cantemo announced today an API integration between Cantemo iconik and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elemental Server.

Video providers increasingly need to enable multiple stakeholders in different locations to access content in complex workflows where teams can create, collaborate, distribute, and intelligently manage media projects. API integration between Cantemos solutions and AWS Elemental Server combines a well-established solution for on-premises video transcoding with all the scalability and simplicity of the cloud and pay-as-you-go pricing.

AWS Elemental Server provides fast and reliable video processing for file-based workflows. The software-based solution performs simultaneous, faster-than-real-time conversion of multiple video files to create mezzanine deliverables, traditional on-demand assets, or adaptive bitrate outputs for delivery to TVs, PCs, and mobile devices.

Cantemo iconik is a cloud-based video hub that enables media customers to easily manage, share, discover, and collaborate on media content in the cloud or in a hybrid cloud environment. Content is secure yet globally available. Using a hybrid architecture, assets can be stored in the cloud, on-premises, or as a mixture of the two, while enabling full access to the entire library when needed.

The API integration with iconik means that customers can use their existing AWS Elemental Server deployment to transcode high-resolution files locally to proxies and automatically send them to iconik. This is a particularly attractive workflow where performance is key, enabling users to transcode content extremely rapidly.

iconik also allows customers to gain access to other AWS services, including media conversion and distribution of on-demand content with AWS Elemental MediaConvert, cloud storage with Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), global content delivery using Amazon CloudFront, and deep learning-based image and video analysis with Amazon Rekognition.

Cantemo has also introduced API integration between its media asset management solution, Cantemo Portal, and AWS Elemental Server. This enables advanced and streamlined on-premises video workflows.

The way in which video is created, reviewed, edited, and distributed is changing rapidly, driven by a number of factors. This means that video providers have vastly differing workflows. The combination of iconik and AWS Elemental Server enables streamlined hybrid cloud video workflows with unrivalled video intelligence. Integrating iconik with AWS Elemental Server was a natural step following the recent API integration with AWS Elemental MediaConvert for cloud transcoding.
