You may have heard that Virgin Media has said that it will stop screening UKTVs channels from Sunday 22 July. We know that lots of Virgin customers love watching our channels and were really sorry for the inconvenience and frustration that this causes. Many of you have got in touch to find out whats going on, so we hope that the information below is useful.

Why are UKTV channels disappearing from Virgin Media? UKTV has had a partnership with Virgin Media for more than 10 years and wed love to continue serving their customers. Sadly, Virgin now says it wants to make a huge cut in the fees that it pays so weve been unable to agree a new deal. The money we receive from partners helps us to pay for the shows and channels you love, weve increased investment in these to more than £150 million in the last year.

Which UKTV channels are affected? Without a new deal, Virgin Media UK customers will no longer be able to watch any of our 10 UKTV channels. These are Dave, Alibi, Gold, W, Drama, Eden, Good Food, Yesterday, Really and Home. Virgin Media Ireland customers will no longer be able to watch Dave, Alibi, Gold and W.

Are Catch Up programmes disappearing too? Yes, Virgin Medias on demand service will no longer offer access to UKTV programmes such as Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier, Quantico, John Bishop: In Conversation With, Inside The Ambulance, dinnerladies diaries, Carter and Harrow.

When do the channels disappear? Virgin has said that it will stop screening UKTV channels from Sunday 22 July.

Will I receive a reduction in my Virgin Media subscription fee? Thats a question that you will need to take up with Virgin Media.

What can I do if I want to continue to watch UKTV channels? We hope that Virgin Media will change its mind and strike a new deal with us. If youd like this to happen, please let them know by calling them on 0345 454 1111, or on twitter @virginmedia.

If Virgin Media dont agree a new deal, customers can avoid missing out on their favourite shows by watching on one of the other platforms where UKTVs channels and programmes are still available. These include Sky, BT and Talk Talk, as well as Freeview, Freesat and online at UKTV Play.
