IABM at IBC2017 - supporting members, leading the discussion

IABM, the international trade association for broadcast and media technology suppliers, is out in force at IBC2017 supporting its hundreds of member companies at the show with a wide range of services including member lounges, meeting rooms, awards and IABM TV. In addition, IABM is helping to set the industry agenda going forward at its show-opening State of the Industry conference session - open to all - and as a partner in the greatly expanded IBC IP Showcase feature.

State of the Industry Conference - technology and business transformation

The first stop at IBC for those wanting the complete picture is the show-opening IABM State of the Industry Conference, running from 7.30am on Friday 15th September in the Forum. As well as receiving an authoritative analysis on the state of the industry garnered from the latest IABM vendor and end-user surveys, attendees will also hear the views of industry leaders on technology and business transformation. Panelists include: EVS CEO, Muriel De Lathouwer; Microsoft MD Media and Cable, Tony Emerson; Imagine Communications CEO, Charlie Vogt; Avid President, Jeff Rosica; Neulion EVP, Chris Wagner; and IABM CEO Peter White, with John Ive, IABM Director Strategic Insight, hosting the discussion.

IP Showcase

IABM is committed to bringing the vendor and end-user communities ever closer with a range of initiatives, and so is once again playing a central role in the IP Showcase - greatly expanded this year following its successful debut at IBC2016. Things have moved on rapidly over the last year with the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of IP standards now in its final phase of drafting and slated for publication by the end of 2017. More than 50 vendors are demonstrating realtime IP interoperability between their systems in the IP Showcase, based on SMPTE ST 2110 and AMWA NMOS specifications.

The integrated IP Showcase theater, curated by IABM, will be running a non-stop series of presentations covering the full gamut of knowledge for real-time IP production and intra-facility distribution. Visitors will also hear about the rapidly increasing number of real-world IP deployments from broadcasters who have already embraced IP signal flows.

Member lounges and meeting rooms

Members have access throughout the show to two IABM member lounges - at stand no 8-F54 outside Hall 8 and on level 2 in the Amtrium (Hall 4), providing much-needed business facilities away from the show floor. The Amtrium member lounge also includes several bookable meeting rooms which are highly valued by members for conducting business discussions out of the public glare.

IABM Design and Innovation Awards

The IABM Design and Innovation Awards are always one of the show highlights. Celebrating the innovation that drives our industry forward, and judged by a panel of 40 independent industry experts, both shortlisted companies and winners receive industry-wide recognition for their achievements. IABM will be announcing the shortlisted candidates within the next few days, and the winners are announced at the awards ceremony at IBC on Saturday 16th September, 6.30pm.

IABM TV

IABM TV will be roving the show floor capturing members' news as well as recording round tables where industry leaders discuss technologies, trends and ideas that are shaping the future of the broadcast and media industry.
