The Hartiwood Food and Film Show taking place this weekend, 16 to 18 September 2016 at French Toast Coffee Caf , Hartbeespoort. Held at Hartiwood films, former film sets from the Hartiwood classic French Toast (set in Paris) form the backdrop for the food and film festival. The set is a replica of a Parisian caf complete with Eiffel Tower.

16 September, Friday:

Movie night at French Toast s open air cinema with a showing of Wild, Wild, West. There will be a make your own cowboy burger area. The show starts at 19h30 and tickets cost R60 per person and are available online and from French Toast Coffee Caf .

17 September, Saturday:

Music night with Jannie Moolman and Corlea, under the stars with Cognac. Concert-goers will be treated to a free tasting of Richelieu XO Cognac - which recently won the title of World s Best Cognac at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London. One audience member could win a bottle that normally retails at R1700. Tickets cost R150 per person.

Saturday s concert is also the venue for the presentation of the Hartbeespoort Ambassador Awards. Six local heroes (as voted for by readers of the local newspaper) will each go home with bottles of 10 year old Richelieu brandy.

18 September, Sunday:

Market day, tickets cost R60 for adults and R30 for children and can be bought at the gate. Cowboy films will be shown: The Good the Bad and the Ugly and The Assassination of Jesse James and Rango.

There will be 80 stalls including:

Prue Leith Pastry School fine French patisserie (macaroons, almond tarts, glazed fruit tarts, brioche, croissant etc)

Breyer s duck liver pates and terrines

Organic sour dough breads from Penny Ziefert

Banting options

Organic nougat from Jakalshond

Toffees galore

Fantastic fudge

Organic and free range meat from Braeside butchery.

Craft beer from Loxton brewery

Organic gin, vodka and absinthe

Delicious Ivorian ginger juice and hibiscus juice for those who don t drink alcohol.

Magnificent coffee and coffee ceremonies from the Eritrean chef at Savannah Restaurant in Pretoria.

Art and entertainment at the market will include Marionette magic provided by Wiebke Holm with her accordion and puppets. Chantal van Zyl with fire dancing. Willemien Rust (famous for her magnificent rendition of the theme song from French Toast, the movie) will be performing her new show Twee Hartstale at 11h00 and again at 14h00.
