Clear-Com to Launch V-Series Iris Color Panel for AES-67 Audio Over IP

V-Series Panel updated to use high-quality uncompressed AES-67 audio to the new Eclipse HX E-IPA card for increased audio performance over IP At IBC2018, Clear-Com will present the first chance to see the forthcoming V-Series Iris Panel that provides Eclipse HX users with AES-67 Audio-over-IP (AoIP) capability and new color displays.

The new V-Series Iris panel can monitor and send communications over three concurrent AES-67 uncompressed audio IP streams, enabling systems to deliver high quality, uncompressed AES-67 audio from user to user with significantly reduced latency. When connected to Clear-Com's new high-density E-IPA card, which is natively AES-67 compliant, users can deploy up to 64 Iris panels per card. The Iris panel also offers fully color configurable OLED displays, delivering the user label and port information in dimly lit areas or full daylight. While the V-series Iris panel will be optimized for a future accompanying version of Eclipse HX software when running over AES-67, it will still have IVC and 4-wire connections for backward compatibility with Eclipse frames running EHX 10.0 or earlier.

The V-Series Iris panel is ideal for productions that have fully converted to IP-based communications for distribution of video and audio, enabling them to leverage the AES-67 based V-Series Iris panels to piggyback intercom on a network. Live production teams will also benefit from the full color OLED displays, allowing teams to quickly view and process channel information simply by the colors displayed, keeping their focus on the performance. In addition, production teams can take advantage of the flexibility offered by combining V-Series Iris panels and multiple E-IPA cards; for example, a large sporting events might use a single frame with many wireless/panel connections on the same intercom network to cover an entire stadium, or mega-churches may create multi-region intercom networks via LAN, WAN or the Internet to broadcast services to churches around the world.

As the adoption of IT-centric communication continues, Clear-Com's extensive IP intercom range ensures that the widest range of communication requirements can be met, said Stephen Sandford, Senior Product Manager, Clear-Com. The addition of the V-Series Iris color panel makes the Eclipse HX line-up even more accommodating and flexible for customers' varying needs.

The V-Series Iris panel will be available for demonstration, together with the E-IPA card and a wide range of Clear-Com's trusted communications solutions, on Clear-Com's booth 10.D29 at IBC2018. The V-Series Iris panel is expected to ship in January, 2019.
